William Michael Morgan

William Michael Morgan (born William M. Morgan on May 13th, 1993) is an American country singer from Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Singing and performing since he was 5, Michael loves to sing and loves country music. He looks up to many who have achieved greatness such as George Jones, George Strait, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Dierks Bentley, and Billy Dean. In January of 2005, he recorded seven songs which could be heard on his website and he quickly gained a small Fan base who knew they were hearing the next best thing in country music. Meanwhile, Around town, the Beechwood Restaurant and Lounge began playing his songs to the public.

By May 2005, Michael had his own recording studio in his home and every few weeks the fans were treated to new songs. Also during that time, Michael was interviewed by the local country music radio station where he talked about an upcoming contest that was to be held in Las Vegas, NV. He was one out of 175 contestants chosen out of 59,000 entries. The contest was held on June 18th and he was awarded first place for most promising. After the show aired on “I” Independent TV (formerly Pax TV), fans voted Michael as the TV Viewer’s choice. He received a ground breaking number of votes: almost 2 million. Also during the summer of 2005 he went to a talent contest in Hurricane Hills, TN at the Loretta Lynn’s Ranch. He received 4th place in the youth division and then got the opportunity to return for the final round in September of that year. All along, Michael was gaining more fans and more experience.

On November of 2005, he auditioned at the famous Johnnie High’s Country Music Review in Arlington, Texas and was selected to perform on January 27th, 2006 where he received two standing ovations.

In February 2006, Michael became friends with singer and producer Lee Bogan and was asked by him and Lanier Records to be part of the Country from the Heart CD to help benefit children in the Philippines. This cd featured Lee Bogan, Chris McDaniel, Tre Twitty, Ronnie McDowell, Angel Nash, Shareen King, Narvel Felts, Ray Cliff, Mark Collier, Jeff Logan and Tim Gillihan.

On October 28th, 2006., Michael was invited as a presenter and nominee to the first annual Mississippi Best Awards held at the Telcom Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Where he sang two songs and received two standing ovations. After it was all set and done, he walked away with seven awards including best gospel artist, best country artist, overall entertainer, breakout recording artist, best website, Mississippi best kept secret and Most likely to succeed. Earlier in the month, fans, friends and the public had a chance to vote for their favorite artist from Mississippi during an online voting. Michael was also named the Mississippi Home Town Hero for the month of October 2006.

Michael currently has his debut CD available for purchase through his website and is being managed by Mike Morgan. He is currently a recording artist for Lanier Records and his songs are produced by Lee Bogan. Besides being a country singer, Michael is also an ASCAP writer and has co-written a couple songs with assistance from fellow co-writer and singer Barbara Wilkinson.

Michael just came back from Tennessee where he has been invited to take part in an upcoming book titled "100 Young Americans" to be released some time in 2007.
