William Howard Taft High School (Chicago)

William Howard Taft High School is a high school located at 6530 West Bryn Mawr Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. It is run by the Chicago Public Schools (CPS). It is perhaps most famous as being the high school attended by the writer of Grease, which he used as inspiration in writing the musical. [1].

On December 8, 2005, three kids from Taft High School were suspended for posting threatening comments about teachers and students on Xanga. They were from the 7th and 8th grade advanced placement program. One of the student's comments had left a teacher in tears. Some of the comments included, but not limited to:
"...yes there will be blood...her throat will be slit like a chicken" [1]
