William Gibson Sloan was born on Sept. 04 1838 in the town of Dalry in Ayrshire, Scotland. He became a Plymouth Brethren missionary to Shetland and the Faroe Islands. He died on his 76th birthday, Sept. 04 1914 in his home in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands.
