William Field (born March 17, 1816 in Port Dalrymple, Tasmania) was an Australian cricket player, who played one game for Tasmania. He has the distinction of having participated in the first ever first class cricket match in Australia, in which he unfortunately failed to make an impact. William Field died on June 22, 1890, in Bishopbourne, Tasmania at the age of 74.
