William Coales (8 January 1886 - January 19, 1960) was a British athlete who competed mainly in the distance events.

He competed for Great Britain in the 1908 Summer Olympics held in London, Great Britain in the 3 mile team where he won the Gold medal with his team mates Joseph Deakin and Archie Robertson.
