William Alexander Duer (1780-1858)

William Alexander Duer (September 8, 1780May 30, 1858) was an American lawyer, jurist, and educator from New York City, grandson of William Alexander, Lord Stirling. He was an Associate Justice of the New York State Supreme Court (1822-1829) and served as President of Columbia College (now Columbia University) from 1829 to 1842.
