Willetton Senior High School (WSHS) is the largest government high school in Western Australia. The school first opened in February 1977. Today, WSHS enrols approximately 1800 students each year and employs nearly 150 staff. It is located near the Southlands Boulevard shopping centre. The student catchment area for WSHS encompasses all of the suburb of Willetton and part of the suburb of Bull Creek which is also partially shared by Leeming Senior High School.

[edit] School Fire of 2005

In late 2005 a fire broke out after hours in the building complex encompassing the Performing Arts Centre (PAC) and Gym. The PAC was heavily damaged and there was also extensive damage to the gymnasium. The total cost of the damage is believed to be approximately $1,000,000 AUD. Faulty wiring in an air conditioning unit was blamed for the fire. The redevelopment of the facilities is due to be finished in the second quarter of 2007.

WSHS covers an area of approximately 450m². There are seven main buildings along with numerous transportable buildings. The school also has the following installations:

• Tennis and basketball courts
• Canteen
• Staff and student car parks

• This school is one of the schools offering the Academic Talent Program (ATP) and the Talented And Gifted (TAG) program.
• This school offers computer, basketball and art scholarships.
