[edit] Center for Excellence in Teaching
The CET program began in 1999 and offers graduate level courses for teaching professionals.[2] These courses are designed to provide class work needed for teachers attempting to earn their Continuing Teaching License, earn a reading endorsement towards Teachers Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) requirements, an English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) endorsement, and other professional courses for teachers and administrators.[2] Additionally, the school offers the New Directions in Educational Leadership designed for school administrators to obtain licensing.[3]
[edit] MAT
Willamette’s Master of Arts in Teaching program has both a full-time and part-time option.[4] Within these programs, there are four focuses of curriculum: early childhood, elementary for grades 3 to 8, middle level for grades 5 to 9, and secondary for grades 7 to 12.[4] The MAT program began in 1992, with the School of Education forming in 1996.[5]
The full-time program lasts ten months and includes a year long placement in a public school.[4] The part-time program is a two-year option named Aspire also includes placement in a public school work, but is more flexible to time constraints as it is designed for working adults.[4]
