Will Scheffer is an American playwright and co-creator and executive producer of Big Love with fellow writing partner, Mark V. Olsen. Prior to Big Love, Scheffer created Ellis Island and Duck Town. Scheffer has also written screenplays for the films, If These Walls Could Talk 2, Easter with Mark V. Olsen and the HBO film, Home.

His television writing credits include The Pact on Lifetime and Citizen Baines.

In 1997, Scheffer was honored with the Variety magazine award "One of the Rising Writers to Watch".
