Will Priestly

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Will Priestley was President of the Union of Students in Ireland in 2003-04. A native of south Dublin, he attended Catholic University School, Leeson St., before taking an European Studies degree in Trinity College, Dublin.

He was elected President of USI following a closely fought election and led the Union through a period of financial instability, for which he received widespread praise. However his conservative political views and actions were criticised by some and some felt it led to a decline in the media profile and lobbying power of the organisation, with others pointing out the difficulty of maintaining the high profile media profile generated by the anti-fees campaign of the previous year.

He is currently undergoing a masters degree in the University of Notre Dame and was involved in disaster relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
