William Griggs, (born Sebastian Barnes), was a fictional character in the Network Ten soap opera Neighbours, portrayed by actor Christian Clark. The character made his first appearance on October 12, 2006 and last appeared on January 23, 2007, making him one of the show's shortest serving characters to date. He entered on the same episode as Frazer Yeats (Ben Lawson), Pepper Steiger (Nicky Whelan) and Rosetta Cammeniti (Natalie Saleeba).

[edit] History

When he first entered the show, Will claimed that he was a backpacker, though, as was revealed near to his departure from the show, he is actually rich, as he inherited money and stock from his family, part of the stock being 2% of Lassiter's Hotels.

When Will entered the show, he moved into Number 30 with Frazer, Pepper and Rosie, Rosie became attracted to him instantly. She wrote about her feelings for Will in her diary, which Will saw. Rosie set up Will on a date with her sister, Carmella (Natalie Blair).

Will asked Carmella out on a date, and she accepted. They had a good first date, only that Will refused to talk about his past. Will, meanwhile, was found out by Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis), who found out about Will owning 2% of Lassiter's (the identity of the stock holder was unknown for a while). Carmella wanted to meet Will's parents, though as he didn't want to tell her that his parents were dead, keen to hide his past, he paid his mother's assistant, Selma, to play the role as his mother. Carmella eventually found out when she saw Will paying Selma, and she broke up with him, furious for him lying to her. Desperate to get back with her, he revealed the truth to her, that his real name is Sebastian Barnes, and that he is actually rich, as he owns hotels all over the world, and that he owns 2% of Lassiter's. Carmella didn't believe him, so he proved it to her by taking her in a limousine to a penthouse that he owns. Carmella began to believe him, but when she tried to call him Sebastian, he said that he prefers Will, as that is who she fell in love with. Carmella accepted him for who he is, but broke up for good with him, again for lying.

During this period, Will began receiving strange offerings, such as keys to a new car. Will, however, rejected the offers. It was later revealed that he is the heir to a large fortune, such as 2% stock of Lassiter's (Before he entered the show, he was constantly referred to as 'Mr. 2-percent'). Paul discovered this, along with Will's real name, Sebastian Barnes. He promised to keep Will's secret, as long as he voted against the Timminses at the next board meeting, as Paul couldn't purchase the stock from Will. Elle (Pippa Black), Paul's daughter, later on found out about him being Mr. 2-percent, and she tried to seduce him, but he rejected her. Elle's boyfriend, Dylan Timmins (Damien Bodie), became suspicious about Will and Elle.

Christian Clark, the actor who played Will, decided to leave the show suddenly. All of his character's storylines were passed onto the character's brother, Oliver Barnes, portrayed by David Hoflin.

Will has been mentioned several times after his departure. Carmella left a message for him on his voicemail, which was when Oliver was first seen on the show. Oliver explained everything about Will to Carmella, and offered her even more help. They have now started dating.

Another humorous mention of Will was when Elle lied to Dylan that Will's secret was that he was born with six nipples. This somehow excited Dylan and they grew to suspect that Oliver also may have six nipples.
