Wildhammer Dwarves

The Wildhammer Dwarves are a dwarven clan in the fictional Warcraft Universe. Before the events of the War of the Three Hammers, they were part of the Dwarven nation of Khaz Modan and lived peacefully with the Bronzebeard and Dark Iron clans. However, when King Anvilmar died and the War of the Three Hammers broke out, they engaged in the three way war with the Bronzebeard and Dark Irons for control of the nation.

As the war concluded, with the Bronzebeard the victors, both the Dark Irons and Wildhammers left Khaz Modan for pastures new. While the Dark Irons plotted, the Wildhammers set up a home in The Wetlands in Grim Batol but were later forced by Thaurissan to leave and have since set up home at Aerie Peak in The Hinterlands.

Although the Wildhammer dwarves are no longer a part of the dwarven kingdom, they still are enemies of the Horde and welcome members of the Alliance onto their territory. In Warcraft III: Frozen Throne for example, they contributed griffin riders to aid the Alliance. It is also important to distinguish between the Wildhammer clan, who are friendly to the Alliance, and the Dark Iron Dwarves, who are vicious enemies of anyone who isnt a Dark Iron dwarf. The wildhammer clan has good relations with Magni Bronzebeard and are in agreement with the Khaz Modan dwarves on many issues.
