Wilderness Survival

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wilderness Survival

Wilderness survival a set of basic skills such as fire-making, shelter construction, primitive weapons, snaring, survival kits, water procurement, and survival psychology. It means having the skills to improvise and adapt in the wilderness. It means knowing what to do if things go terribly wrong.

But it is much more than that. Knowledge, skills, and practice have a goal beyond themselves – to let you feel at home in the wilderness, listen to it speak, and let it enter into your spirit. Wilderness survival means – gradually, over a lifetime – learning how to move with the wilderness, rather than bullheadedly against it.
