Hello User:Wildthing61476 Is it possible to add a local term to wiktionary or wikipedia that has relevance to a handfull of people in a local community? Thanks,

[edit] Hot Rod Surf

Hello User:Wildthing61476 I have took your suggestion and cleaned up all POV in the article Hot Rod Surf. Thanks, HunterIrrigation 22:29, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wall of Denial

hello, with regards to Wall of Denial:

http://www.midmarchrecords.com/

  • Understandable, however All Music Guide has NO listing on them, neither does Amazon. A listing from their record company is NOT notability enough.

[edit] Welcome!

Hello, Wildthing61476, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like it here and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! — TheKMantalk 19:07, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Billy Hentenaar

I've moved the text of the page to the page User:Billy hentenaar, and place the {{subst:Nn-userfy|Billy Hentenaar}} tag on his talk page. It's a nice way to help the newbies figure it out. - CobaltBlueTony 15:29, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] VNU Global Media

No worries. It was borderline whether this was a WP:CSD:A7 or not. I think it just squeeked by with an assertion of notability. However its clearly spam and unless rewritten it should be deleted. If they remove the Prod notice I'll take it to AfD, or you should feel free to. Thanks for helping keep Wikipedia an encyclopedia. Gwernol 19:42, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] World Population Day

I removed your prod tag and got rid of the blatent spam that justified it. I turned the article into a stub. Maybe someday it will grow into something actually borderline useful. Worth a shot. Dipics 15:36, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Diamandopoulos CSD

Please see talk:Diamandopoulos. I have concerns over your CSD nomination. (|-- UlTiMuS ( U | T | C | E ) 15:40, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

Ah. You responded before I could submit :D. (|-- UlTiMuS ( U | T | C | E ) 15:40, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Snicket file

Its only because I've read a couple of the books that this comes from that I recognize it and that's only because the author, Daniel Handley lives in San Francisco near where I used to live. I can absolutely see why you read it as nonsense. A classic example of the need for context. I've added a little and will do some more cleanup on the article. Best, Gwernol 20:16, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Brad Bittinger AfD

This is another copy of an article that appeared as three other people last week. I asked some admins to check for GNAA activity, but with no response. --DarkAudit 23:36, 12 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Dora Venter

Hello Wild thing, on July 7 you opened an afD for this article. The last few days this AfD has fallen victim to trolling (sorry I do not know a better word) or at least exceptional edits (in Wikipedia terms) by the creator of the article. I appreciate if you can take a look. Best regards, gidonb 14:25, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your VandalProof Application

Dear Wildthing61476,

Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact with the new 1.2 version release it has even more power. As such we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that for security reasons, VandalProof's creator requires its users to have made 250 edits to mainspace articles, which you have not (see under main here). Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again in the not too distant future. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. - Glen 05:07, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] CSD

Sorry, I've just twigged! A note that it's the title that's wrong would be good, as obviously the content is fine. I realise now - same content under loads of different titles... Tyrenius 17:38, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Db-repost

Hi,

Just so you know, don't mark something for speedy deletion with a G4 template unless it has been AfD'ed. If it is speedied and reposted, just mark it with the original reason for speedying (in most cases, CSD A7.) G4 is designed only for articles that have been through full deletion process. Thanks for helping with tagging! We need the help! Best wishes, Xoloz 19:06, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Antoine Howard

Thanks for approving of my cleanup. --Hector 20:28, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Warning vandals

Hi Wildthing61476. I wanted to leave you a note to remind you to warn vandals on their talk pages when they vandalize. It makes it easier for an admin to come to a decision on whether or not to block if there are obvious attempts to correct the behavior. Thanks for keeping an eye on new pages! Syrthiss 19:10, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

Heh not a prob. In most cases, the {{test}} series of templates can be used for most vandalism. There are more specific ones that can be used, but admins seeing tests will know that at least some attempt was made. :) Syrthiss 19:18, 21 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] rrg

you don't even know the creator of that article! that's right, i am! chikinpotato11. City Limits is not fake. I made it myself and i have worked on it hard for over 2 years! If you have a problem than confront me at (I removed this number to protect this user)! Atleast you didn't have something really dear to you just vanish...multuple times!

[edit] what's ur problem

hey Frodo and Bilbo TeaBaggins happen to be very important members of the online gaming community and I believe it is important to share information about them in an article so other gamers can know of their greatness. p.s. eat me n00b.

[edit] You Are In Fact Quite Mistaken

As the title of this section says, you are in fact quite mistaken. If you were a gamer of my caliber you would know that Frodo and Bilbo TBagins are very highly looked upon in the online gaming community as is Testiclese151 whose name spans many different games and genres and who I was planning on writing an article about when I was finished with Bilbo and Frodo TBagins but if unknowledgable people like yourself continue to impede my efforts to inform the gaming community of incredible gamers then I will never make it to Testiclese151, and the online gaming community will never know of his greatness until they meet him in an online battle in which they will get pwned hardcore.

[edit] You're Incompetent

Apparently you didn't read WP:BIO because it very clearly states “This guideline is not Wikipedia policy (and indeed the whole concept of notability is contentious).” Perhaps you should learn how to read before you decide that Bilbo Frodo and Testiclese are unimportant. Also just because they aren't notable according to you doesn't mean they aren't notable according to other, much more important and intelligent people.

[edit] curious

I'm curious as to why you get to decide if an article isn't good enough when there are clearly much better people to decide. And yes I realize that was another “personal attack” but there's no reason to cry, they're just words.

[edit] One More Thing

Honestly I'm not mad that my article got deleted, it was the first time I really tried to do anything with an article so I was just experimenting and yes I realize thats what the sandbox thing is for but the sandbox sucks. Also I just enjoy arguing so once again I'm not mad about the article. Bilbo and Frodo TBagins aren't even really well known and actually aren't that good, Testiclese151, however, is incredible and possibly deserves an article.

[edit] Speedy deletion

I noticed that you tagged the page Apple Juice for speedy deletion with the reason "Article is about a non-notable internet film". However, "Article is about a non-notable internet film" is not currently one of our criteria for speedy deletion, so I have removed the speedy deletion tag. You can use Wikipedia:Articles for deletion if you still want the article to be deleted. Thanks! Stifle (talk) 18:49, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Removed your prod from Glazed Expressions

Check out my changes. If you still feel it should be deleted, feel free to replace the prod tag without my objection. BigNate37T·C 19:12, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] What?

I didn't remove the speedy deletion tags for Lil' Grizzy...that was someone else.

[edit] Danny Boon

Will the article Danny Boon be deleted? I really hope not. He's a notable comedian, because a lot of French people know him. If the article is not to delete I'll keep adding things. loulou 15:11, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Yes, but when I did a Google search almost all the hits were for a British actor named Danny Boon. loulou 15:15, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Oh no! I made a horrible mistake: his name is spelled Dany Boon, not Danny Boon. How do I rename the article?! loulou 15:36, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

Okay I put the note. loulou 15:40, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Dany Boon

Now I have found his official website, with all of his movie credits. Now he is notable. Sorry for the mistake! :( loulou 15:46, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your Speedy Tagging of Stalefish

Hi, I was browsing Recent changes and noticed you tagged Stalefish for speedy deletion. I have contested that deletion. It seems the original author was not familiar with wiki formatting and had simply made several formating errors. I have since fixed those and have added the {{holdon}} tag to the page. I'm assuming good faith in that this was an honest mistake (I have made numerous myself). Might I suggest slightly closer review of the articles you put up for speedy deletion. Cheers! --omtay38 18:20, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Not actually that Wild

Turns out this users name is a total farse, and he is in fact, not actually that wild.

Vandals, got to love them right? Wildthing61476 21:50, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] double standard?

please explain why the page about spraci is marked as spam when there are similar pages about several other event listings services/websites (eventful, upcoming.org, etc). Surely the same rules should apply to everyone?

If you feel that way, then by all means nominate those articles. Wildthing61476 16:19, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

I'm not here to make enemies...

I've decided that there are other more valid reasons you may have for wanting to delete it

I am not going to be dishonest and claim to be independant of spraci and without other references as per WP:WEB, your action is understandable.

I can understand that you probably do need independant information in such cases so I apologise if I misunderstood your intentions!

I wasn't trying to be rude either, it's just we get hundreds of websites that try to create articles here, and there are standards that need to be met. Wildthing61476 18:46, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Response to your message, re: Super Greg

Yeah, sometimes I get hasty with the SD tags, hoping to catch NN entries quickly instead of waiting for prod to go through. (This is especially true of spam articles, which drive me insane.) Good catch, though. Cheers. -- Merope 20:51, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 14 Year Old Girls

I have added info to the article that help establishes notability, and I was hoping you may re-visit the AfD. Please respond at the AfD rather than this talk page, since I am leaving this message for several editors. Thank you! PT (s-s-s-s) 18:36, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] db-advert

You should be aware that Template:Db-advert has been disabled, since in fact there is no speedy criterion for advertising. The result is that articles with this tag are not in the speedy deletion category and will not be reviewed by any admins. May I suggest that, for any articles you tagged with this, you consider Prod? If they contest the Prod, then you'll need to look at AFD. Looks like there are a fair number, and the tags will just stay there indefinitely, without the article ever getting deleted. Fan-1967 02:31, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

Looks like Revragnarok is working through them right now. I noticed s/he's prod'ed that whole autoguide/truckguide/etc. set. Fan-1967 03:06, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikiality

The reason I posted the Lucas Perry article is because I am a member of wikiality.com and we constantly have wikipedians coming in to vandalize our site, so I got sick of it and merely returned the favor. --Real tymer 03:38, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Thank you. It's just rather frustrating. Wikipedia puritans who think we're the one's constantly fooling with the 'Population' and Penis parts of the Elephant page come in and total our site with vandalism, which makes my editing job alot harder. Wikiality.com is NOT made of the Colbert drones you see running around here. If you hear of any discussing of vandalising Wikiality.com, please discourage it. --Real tymer 03:45, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Thank you, I will discontinue my vandalism of your own Wikiality. --Real tymer 03:47, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

I still don't like you but I can learn to live just please stop making mean comments like "yea sure whatever" and crap like that cause I am trying to find the link!!!!!!

I also discourage people from vandalizing wikipedia. I happen to run Wikiality and it was a pain at first with people vandalizing my site, but it has calmed down with the occasional hiccup. A lot of our contributors make their own articles, and I also encourage them, if they use others material, to give credit where its due. --uno

When the original author blanks a page that has been speedied or Prod'ed, we can take it as assumption that the author agrees to its deletion. Rather than rv'ing the blanking, tag it as {{db-blanked}} (designed exactly for this purpose) and it can be speedied. Saves us the trouble of waiting out the five days for the Prod. [edit] September Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: Barnstar Brigade
Here in Wikipedia there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go unappreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go unnoticed. As Esperanzians we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. This is where the Barnstar Brigade comes in. The object of this program is to seek out the people which deserve a Barnstar, and help them feel appreciated. With your help, we can recognize more dedicated editors!
What's New?
September elections are upon us! Anyone wishing to be a part of the Advisory Council may list themselves as a candidate from 18 September until 24 September, with the voting taking place from 25 September to 30 September. Those who wish to help with the election staff should also list themselves!

[edit] FurniFind

Although I wish it was, "Blatent Advertising" is not a criteria for speedy deletion. It's probably best to PROD such articles, as was done to FurniFind.com. I've been slapped for doing this before and it seemed only fair to warn you. -- IslaySolomon 17:23, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

Looks like it's time to eat my own words. Since I left the above comment, a new CSD has been created:
Blatant advertising. Pages which only promote a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (CSD G11).

[edit] {{recreated}} tag

Hey! I always see you on New Page Patrol, but I don't think I've ever said what a good job you do! It's tough work, especially keeping up with the db tags that get removed.

I noticed you left a {{recreated}} tag on Gaz2812's talk page, but that's not the correct tag to use. {{recreated}} is for articles that underwent a deletion review (through WP:AFD). Articles that were previously speedied don't fall under this category; instead, you could use {{test2article-n}}, {{test3article-n}}, etc. Let me know if you have any questions, and keep up the good work! -- Merope Talk 14:57, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

One more thing: you should also add subst: before any template you use on a talk page. So instead of {{drmspeedy}}, you put {{subst:drmspeedy}}. This permanently substitutes the template onto the person's talk page. You can see WP:SUBST for more information. (This is a tricky thing that I didn't learn for quite a while!) Cheers! -- Merope Talk 15:09, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
