[edit] Hey, now!

I don't think an article asking if I'm sexy is "nonsense".  ;) But I speedied it anyway. -- Merope 18:27, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Brother, lighten up!

Brother, newpage patrol is distasteful, that's why you must lighten up! Some gentle humor prevents wiki-burnout, man! 65.10.16.14 20:52, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] User talk:Mgstone

I see you left a {{test5}} message on Mgstone's talk page. This is misleading since the user had not been blocked, and you are not an admin, therefore not capable of blocking users, I believe; I assume this was a mistake? On the other hand the vandalism from Mgstone's account is unacceptable and I have imposed a 1 week block on this user. Please take a little more care in the test messages you leave in the future, but many thanks for helping fight this vandal and WP:POV-pusher. Good luck, Gwernol 19:12, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

Not to worry, the main thing is he's blocked now. It was a good thing I checked though, or I might not have spotted that he wasn't really blocked :-) Again thanks for helping takcle this miscreant. Best, Gwernol 19:16, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Muschihausen

Article semi-protected, added to my watchlist and recent accounts indef blocked as vandal-only accounts. Good catch. Best, Gwernol 19:37, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Problem

Hi there; reference User:TJ1234. You have posted a warning to him, which I naturally do not want to revert. But there are a number of apparent vandalisms on the same page. I suspect that this user may be a User:Trauma16 sockpuppet, but lack the expertise to prove it. How about you?--Anthony.bradbury 17:45, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

And User:Trauma16 has a 24-hour block. Better than nothing. We must keep an eye out for him.--Anthony.bradbury 20:32, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

I put {hangon} on other pages, and they get deleted anyway.

Yeah, but they better give me more than 3 seconds to do it.....i created one about another parsippany school....they put it up...and by the time i refreshed my browser the entire article was gone

[edit] Kevinwong

Hi; this page needs userfying, which I will do if I can get through the edit conflicts. He is 12 and making a mistake, which I want to correct.--Anthony.bradbury 13:01, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The DA

That's fine. If I'd have been paying attention I'd have noticed that the section in Dublin Airport had been added right before the new article and reverted the change and speedied the article. As it was I just saw that the Dublin Airport article had a section about that and re-directed the new article. Thanks for seeing what I missed. ~ ONUnicorn (Talk / Contribs) 14:10, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

hi, i just put up the page for the silver square lofts. my first post was very much a boring sounding block of text but i was just using it as a placeholder. the property is actually very interesting from an architectural and historical standpoint. my intention is to post some original sketches of the property as well as pictures showing some of the more dramatic architectural features. hope this helps. thanks

[edit] Edit summaries

Please provide an Edit summary more often, especially when you nominate pages for deletion. Thank you, happy editing, and please continue your great work at new page patrol, Kusma (討論) 21:36, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Takeover Records

Thanks for watching over new content, but as far as Takeover Records I simply posted a format on their page for that user to use. The user would like to learn to post in Wiki and I simply gave them something of mine to work with and replace text. I found this easier for them to do than to type from a printed copy.

Takeover Records is a true company based out of Philly and far from "nonesense." Their section should take shape over a day or two.

[edit] Images for deletion

Thanks for your help! I knew about AfD, but not IfD! Kat, Queen of Typos 22:36, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] November Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: Admin Coaching (needs coaches!)
Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.

Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

What's New?
The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
The last AC meeting (full log)
  • The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
  • There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
  • The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
  • In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
  • A discussion of Esperanza's role in Wikipedia is being held, with all thoughts of all Esperanzians wanted!
  • Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election, HighwayCello.

Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

[edit] Notifications

Thanks for the help with the new page patrols. Please would you also consider leaving notifications on the user talk pages when you tag their articles for deletion. It enables other patrollers to see when a user is on a vandalism spree and it enables administrators to place a block on the user.

Thanks

LittleOldMe 19:06, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I can answer that for you. Have a look at what Wikipedia is not.

[edit] Logos, templates

It was a logo licensed under fair use. Fair use images may not be used in userspace per the WP:FUC. It's a really minor mistake, and we all make it once. It's nothing to worry about. -- Steel 23:30, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Vandalism cleanup

You're very welcome, always glad to help. Sorry there was so much while you were away. Best, Gwernol 20:30, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] ArbCom questions

Hi. I'm Ral315, editor of the Wikipedia Signpost. We're doing a series on ArbCom candidates, and your response is requested.

  1. What positions do you hold (adminship, mediation, etc.)?
  2. Why are you running for the Arbitration Committee?
  3. Have you been involved in any arbitration cases? In what capacity?

Please respond on my talk page. We'll probably go to press late Monday or early Tuesday (UTC), but late responses will be added as they're submitted. Thanks, Ral315 (talk) 02:00, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Portfolio for ArbCom

On Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee Elections December 2006/Summary table, I added a column "Examples" with links that exhibit a candidate's arbitration skills. My motivation is that as a voter, I don't want to just rely on a candidate's words, but also see their actions. Moreover, I believe a portfolio of "model cases" to remember in difficult situations can be useful for each candidate, as well.

So far I have entered examples for the candidates who registered first (from their questions page), and I'm not sure if and when I will get to yours, so you may want to enter an example or two yourself. — Sebastian (talk) 00:02, 4 December 2006 (UTC)    (I stopped watching this page. If you would like to continue the talk, please do so here and let me know.)
