I have removed the last line ("He is unrelated to NY-based Damisela Taveras.") Who is Damisela Taveras, and why is this relevant to this baseball player's entry? If there is a reason to include it, by all means enlighten me. But Google reveals no insight onto who this mysterious person is. Phoenixrod 10:03, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Jose Reyes

If Jose Reyes is in fact a faster runner than Willy Taveras, provide a source to back up the claim. Opinion is not encyclopedic. I've reverted the edit. -Phoenixrod 04:41, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

It's plain that Jose Reyes is faster than Willy Taveras. Look at the stats. There's no reason why YOUR opinon that Taveras is faster is (1) not encyclopedia and (2) simply incorrect. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 38.151.68.157 (talkcontribs) 28 August 2006.
If I said that Taveras was faster, then you would be right, of course. But I did not say that. What I said is that you need a source for any POV claims. Furthermore, "look at the stats" is not proof that anyone is faster; there are many factors such as ballpark for triples or opportunity, OBP, and team philosophy for stealing. "It's plain" to you, maybe, that Reyes is faster, but that's not fact; it's original research. Find a reliable published source and you're golden. It's not about my opinion; it's about what Wikipedia allows us to claim. -Phoenixrod 14:51, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
