[edit] Survey - in support of the move
- Press reports about II make it clear that he was not Jr.
http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/02_27/b3790095.htm says: "William Randolph Hearst II and his sisters Deborah Hearst Gay and Joanne Hearst Castro complained they weren't given enough access to financial records or enough say in decision-making."
http://members.forbes.com/global/2000/1225/0326028a.html says: " In 1997 grandson W.R. Hearst II, now 58, filed suit in Los Angeles Superior Court against the William Randolph Hearst Family Trust, demanding that its financial records and decision making be opened to family members. ... William II ... appears to have no paying job (says his lawyer, John Sturgeon: "He does a lot of travel and manages his investments")."
Time (Friday, Sep. 23, 1966) says "Married. William Randolph Hearst II, 23, grandson of the publisher and a business student at the University of San Francisco; and Jennifer Gooch, 23, an art student; in Manhattan." (implies year of birth was 1943 or so)
So II was filing lawsuits at a time when Jr. has been dead for several years. --Eastmain 16:16, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Survey - in opposition to the move
*Oppose There are now VI generations of William Randolph Hearst. Sr. and Jr. only are unambiguous when there is ONLY a I and a II. Once you add a III they become ambiguous. Both II and III can be called Jr. Who is the other William Randolph Hearst and where is his biography? Is he number III or IV? I think your logic is backward, only I II and II make sense. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) 06:24, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
I have made the move, but all this needs to be sorted out.
