One of the fascinanting tracts of Bill Fyfe's personality is his attribute as a citizen of the world and the fact that he interacts with his students equanimously, despite their race or color, with the same humanitarian view and fair play. He has the gift of inspiring all his students and collaborators with curiosity for all fields of science, not only geology. All his students became very soon his friends.
