[edit] Willem Dafoe Failure Watch

Hello, my name is Mike Giambra, and I'm the primary contributor to the news and info site, the "Willem Dafoe Failure Watch!". My site, at www.failurewatch.com, was taken off links section in the Willem Dafoe entry of the Wikipedia for the following reason:

Hob: -rm link to extremely hostile satire(?) site with no notable info

I find your reasoning to be false. My site was removed due to a perceived “hostility” - I would completely understand if it were the policy of the Wikipedia to not link to sites that are biased one way or another on an issue, but that simply isn’t the case. The Wikipedia’s entry on Abortion, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abortion#External_links) for example, breaks the links down into “Pro Life” and “Pro Choice” sections. Cindy Sheehan’s Wikipedia entry has a links section marked “Criticism and Support” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cindy_sheehan#Criticism_and_support). Therefore, I will enact a similar linking scheme in the Willem Dafoe entry - a subsection of the links section marked “Critics and Supporters”.

Secondly, to state that mine is a site with no notable info is in clear contradiction of the facts - in reality, my site has more current news and information about actor Willem Dafoe than any other website on the planet. Be it Willem's personal or professional life, we're talking about it first and in the most detail.

Examples are plentiful: we discussed his involvement narrating the Heaven's Gate documentary, "Final Cut" at the Seattle Film Festival. We talked about Michelle Bohan (his agent) moving from William Morris to Endeavor, we’ve discussed his upcoming roles in both Lars von Trier’s “Manderlay” and the upcoming satire American Dreamz [sic], his 50th birthday and recent wedding…the list goes on and on. We’ve got plenty of notable information, and a cursory glance at my website’s archives will make that fact obvious. --Faildafoe 03:22, 01 Sept 2005 (PST)

Sorry, no; it's a personal blog full of rants about how much you hate Dafoe. I can only hope that the over-the-top stalker-type remarks (e.g. how Paul Weitz is an asshole because he won't respond to a stranger's suggested script changes) are satire, but in any case, your site says more about you than about Dafoe. For you to repeatedly add links to your own site (especially when it's the only thing you've done here) is not only not very classy, but a specific Wikipedia no-no - a good way to get yourself banned. Feel free to add Wikipedia to the list of enemies you rant about... oh wait, I see you've already done that. Hob 01:56, September 2, 2005 (UTC)
Note that we now have an anonymous editor, 72.226.116.54, re-adding the "Failure Watch" link [1]. I've removed it again. If you have a problem with this, we can take it to RFC. ←Hob 23:58, 20 November 2005 (UTC)
The same site has been added again by anonymous editor 151.204.132.88, now with a misleading title that claims it's an interview. I've removed it again. And again, whoever you are, if you want to talk about this with other editors, we can do that; just don't keep doing this anonymous vandalism. ←Hob 22:54, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
Whoa, this guy's pic is quite startling!!!! Just wanted to let you guys know65.35.223.108 00:24, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Italian????

what are your source?

[edit] name question

I'm just asking cause I'm not sure, his page name is Willem Dafoe yet his name at the beginning of the page is William Dafoe, Jr. Now my question is which name is the real one? - RVDDP2501 20:28, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] So-called "Memorable Quotes" removed

I've cut out the so-called "Memorable Quotes" section, since it is just a few almost random lines, all from a single character in a couple of Dafoe's movies. These are not Dafoe quotes, they are lines written by scriptwriters that Dafoe delivered. If such a section was needed, it would be for things that Dafoe himself said, about his life or his career or whatever. --Orange Mike 13:30, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
