I started this stub just now, but there are some things I'm not entirely certain of, and couldn't find online:

1. Anything about its history.
2. The year it was decommissioned.
3. Verification of its northern terminus.

I know the highway was in existence in 1986, when I used to ride along it for 9 miles each way on the school bus, past the Little House Wayside, and found it on State Highway maps from the late 1980s but by the mid-'90s it's marked as "CC". I remember taking it to I-94 once, but I'm not certain whether it ended on US-10 or WIS-29, although I'm pretty sure it was the latter. The Wisconsin Highways page doesn't have an article on it [yet], much to my chagrin. Any help with this would be much appreciated. Tomer^talk 03:47, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Oconomowoc Bypass and signage Designation

This is a question for the WP members about the new Oconomowoc Bypass, affecting WIS 16 and WIS 67. From what I understand, the bypass (which is mostly limited-access highway, but not completely) is labeled "BYPASS 16" for its length, but "WIS 67" for its section between the Northern leg of WIS 67 and the WIS 16 Freeway.

I'll admit, I'm stumped as to how to refer to this in the article on WIS 16 and/or WIS 67. Any feedback or ideas would be appreciated. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jwhouk (talk • contribs) 05:41, 17 March 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Exit problem with Interstate 90 in Wisconsin article

The listing of exits seems to have contradictory information for Exit 3, and the distinction between Exit 3 and Exits 3A and 3B is unclear. Anyone in the La Crosse area can check this out and fix it? Tomer^talk 08:29, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately I live all the way across the state from La Crosse. I sure loving visiting the beautiful Mississippi River and the driftless areas. I remember taking the exit several times over the years, but I don't remember the details. The most recent was several years ago. None of my maps of La Crosse help with the details. I think that I figured it out. I was about to reply that it doesn't make sense to have exits 3, 3A, and 3B with 53 south being used at two of the exits. I bet that POV stands for Point of View, and that "West POV" stands for westbound (or eastbound). Then it makes sense if westbound and eastbound have different exit numbers (3 is say westbound and 3A/3B are eastbound). I think the term POV should be changed to westbound, eastbound, northbound, or southbound. Royalbroil ^T : C 02:20, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Agreed..."POV" isn't a universally understood TLA, and even if it were, including it is redundant w/ the -bound qualifiers. Tomer^talk 03:45, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Alternate sign

Without wanting to eclipse my above question, I'm wondering whether there's an "ALTERNATE" sign for interstates. As you can see from U.S. Route 53 in Wisconsin, I used the black-on-white "ALTERNATE" sign, but 12, 312 and 53 are labeled "ALTERNATE I-94" in the EC area using white-on-blue signs. A helps? I've seen alternate signs several times in my travels throughout Wisconsin. My guess was they were to be used if there needed to be a detour on the main road. The Eau Claire signs sound familiar. I assumed that you meant that you wanted it changed to the blue and white plate, so I changed it. I found the plate by following the white alternate plate to WikiMedia Commons, and searching its category [1]. Royalbroil ^T : C 12:46, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
