To-do list for Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Tycoon games: edit  · history  · watch  · refresh

Here are some tasks you can do:

    [edit] Mall Tycoon

Someone work on Mall Tycoon. It needs work.

Kelly 16:26, 4 April 2006 (UTC): Done lots of work. Let me know what you all think.

    [edit] Airline Tycoon

Hi everyone, just to let you know i've created a new article, Airline Tycoon. If you have anything that you could add to it then please don't hesitate. Freshprince 17:18, 6 March 2006 (UTC)

Don't worry. I have the game. I'll take care of it. (Iuio 01:20, 2 April 2006 (UTC))

    [edit] Tycoon Computer Games

    Hi, Everyone!

I need you to help with Tycoon Computer Games. The definition needs to be updated, and we need to create a standardized way of creating new articles. As The Filmaker pointed out to me, certain articles are not techincally "Tycoon Computer Games", although they end in Tycoon. Please voice your opinion, with a definition here. Once a definition is chosen, see the Articles for creation page if you are unsure if a new article will fit the definitions.

    Primate#10101:25, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

    Opinions:

    • I think this came about when someone saw "Film Tycoon" while searching for the various "Tycoon" games in order to update "Tycoon Computer Games". They merely assumed (i.e. didn't read the article) that the game was an normal "Rollercoater Tycoon" type computer game, thus they put under the category. Simply a misunderstanding. But I will suggest that you change the name to "Tycoon Video Games" in order to be more specific. The Filmaker 03:09, 13 March 2006 (UTC)
    • When i first joined, i thought this project was for games that end in "Tycoon", so i think this project should be for games ending in "Tycoon".

      Freshprince 11:58, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

What if we were to put a notification on games which ended in "Tycoon", but were not truly Tycoon Computer Games? For Example:

Although this game ends in Tycoon, is technically is not a Tycoon Computer Game. However, it is still managed by the Tycoon Computer Game Wikiproject.

    or something like that.

[edit] Suggestions for more Tycoon games

Anyone else come up with some ideas that they want to be made as Tycoon games? I came up with a great one...FACTORY TYCOON. You would create a factory. You would engineer machines and robots that make the products, and you would need to produce a certain amount of products in a certain amount of time. What do you think? Anyway this can be made into a game?

    [edit] Lots more tycoon games

Hello all! I'm new here. :)

Anyway, I've been looking through the tycoon games collection of my friends and mine and come up with the following additions:

    • Animal Paradise Tycoon
    • Atlantis Underwater Tycoon
    • Big Biz Tycoon
    • Car Tycoon
    • Caterpillar Construction Tycoon
    • Cinema Tycono
    • Deep Sea Tycoon & Deep Sea Tycoon 2
    • Golf Resort Tycoon
    • Health and Fitness Tycoon
    • Mall of America Tycoon
    • Mall Tycoon 2 & Mall Tycoon 3
    • Las Vegas Tycoon
    • Lemonade Tycoon 2
    • Luxury Liner Tycoon
    • Prison Tycoon
    • Real Estate Tycoon
    • Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 & Rollercoaster Tycoon 3
    • SeaWorld Adventure Parks Tycoon 2
    • School Tycoon
    • Shopping Centre Tycoon
    • Skateboard Park Tycoon
    • Ski Resort Tycoon
    • Starship Tycoon
    • Tabloid Tycoon
    • Trailer Park Tycoon
    • Trains and Trucks Tycoon
    • XXX Tycoon [don't even ask]

Think I have the complete list. Should I start editing other pages before we create these?

Oooh boy. There is a big job ahead of us. But by all means, create them. If you happen to know stuff about it, definetely write the article. If not, just write some basic stuff (What it is and who published it) and put {{simulation-cvg-stub}}. Then, when someone reads the article, they can choose to edit it and make it full length, not just a stub.
    Primate#101 02:05, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

Kelly 19:09, 5 April 2006 (UTC): Glad to be of service. Will set to work ASAP on some of them (as they are sat right here on my computer :D).

Hmmm... Never heard of most of these games. But I'll go ahead and ask. Is XXX Tycoon a bar game? Also, let me take this oppotunity to welcome you, Kelly. To everyone else, I may pop in here and edit as an unregisted user so check my user page to avoid confusion. I sometimes don't log in as I am more comfatable as an unregisted user. (Iuio 04:50, 7 April 2006 (UTC))

    [edit] Tycoon "Non-Tycoon" games

I need someone to clarify this for me. Is a game with tycoon-like aspects but does not have the word "tycoon" in its name considered a tycoon game? May be busy for awhile, sorry. (Iuio 04:50, 7 April 2006 (UTC))

[edit] Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team cooperation

Hello. I'm a member of the Version 1.0 Editorial Team, which is looking to identify quality articles in Wikipedia for future publication on CD or paper. We recently began assessing articles using these criteria, and we are are asking for your help. As you are most aware of the issues surrounding your focus area, we are wondering if you could provide us with a list of the articles that fall within the scope of your WikiProject, and that are either featured, A-class, B-class, or Good articles, with no POV or copyright problems. Do you have any recommendations? If you do, please post your suggestions at the listing of all active Hobbies WikiProjects, and if you have any questions, ask me in the Work Via WikiProjects talk page or directly in my talk page. Thanks a lot! Titoxd(?!? - help us) 05:58, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Regarding your posting, you can find the definitions of A, B-Class etc. on this page. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my talk page or on the WP1.0 page linked above. By the way, I love playing Railroad Tycoon myself! Cheers, Walkerma 04:27, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

    [edit] example infobox

Can someone provide an example of an actual infobox? Bibliomaniac15 17:34, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

Check out the example at WP:CVG. Nifboy 04:00, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

    [edit] banners

If you guys have your own project banner could you please leave the WP:CVG banner on the talk pages? They automatically classify an article for the Wikipedia 1.0 project. If you could put {{cvgproj|class=|importance=}} back on any pages that they have been removed from, that would be appreciated. Dread Lord CyberSkull ✎☠ 07:07, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

    [edit] Integration with {{cvgproj}}

A request has been made at WikiProject Computer and video games talk to integrate the subprojects' templates into the CVG header itself. While this project does not have a template right now, when it does it would be integrated. The newly integrated template can be seen here: User:Hbdragon88/Temp. Thoughts? Objections? --PresN 16:13, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

    [edit] Is this project alive?

There's a proposal to archive this project over at CVG, essentially turning this subproject into a task force. This would only be done if (as it looks like) this project is inactive. So...are you? --PresN 18:10, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Well, it will be in about a week! Primate#101 01:11, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

    I'll remind members, then. bibliomaniac15 02:05, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

    [edit] Project Directory

Hello. The WikiProject Council is currently in the process of developing a master directory of the existing WikiProjects to replace and update the existing Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Directory. These WikiProjects are of vital importance in helping wikipedia achieve its goal of becoming truly encyclopedic. Please review the following pages:

    • User:Badbilltucker/Culture Directory,
    • User:Badbilltucker/Culture Directory 2,
    • User:Badbilltucker/Philosophy and religion Directory,
    • User:Badbilltucker/Sports Directory,
    • User:Badbilltucker/Geographical Directory,
    • User:Badbilltucker/Geographical Directory/United States, (note: This page will be retitled to more accurately reflect its contents)
    • User:Badbilltucker/History and society directory, and
    • User:Badbilltucker/Science directory

and make any changes to the entries for your project that you see fit. There is also a directory of portals, at User:B2T2/Portal, listing all the existing portals. Feel free to add any of them to the portals or comments section of your entries in the directory. The three columns regarding assessment, peer review, and collaboration are included in the directory for both the use of the projects themselves and for that of others. Having such departments will allow a project to more quickly and easily identify its most important articles and its articles in greatest need of improvement. If you have not already done so, please consider whether your project would benefit from having departments which deal in these matters. It is my hope to have the existing directory replaced by the updated and corrected version of the directory above by November 1. Please feel free to make any changes you see fit to the entries for your project before then. If you should have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you. B2T2 21:22, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Sorry if you tried to update it before, and the corrections were gone. I have now put the new draft in the old directory pages, so the links should work better. My apologies for any confusion this may have caused you. B2T2 00:09, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

End cross-post. Please do not comment more in this section.

    [edit] Wikipedia Day Awards

Hello, all. It was initially my hope to try to have this done as part of Esperanza's proposal for an appreciation week to end on Wikipedia Day, January 15. However, several people have once again proposed the entirety of Esperanza for deletion, so that might not work. It was the intention of the Appreciation Week proposal to set aside a given time when the various individuals who have made significant, valuable contributions to the encyclopedia would be recognized and honored. I believe that, with some effort, this could still be done. My proposal is to, with luck, try to organize the various WikiProjects and other entities of wikipedia to take part in a larger celebrartion of its contributors to take place in January, probably beginning January 15, 2007. I have created yet another new subpage for myself (a weakness of mine, I'm afraid) at User talk:Badbilltucker/Appreciation Week where I would greatly appreciate any indications from the members of this project as to whether and how they might be willing and/or able to assist in recognizing the contributions of our editors. Thank you for your attention. Badbilltucker 17:23, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
