[edit] Episode articles with too much trivia
I've noticed quite alot SpongeBob articles have too much trivia, this problem needs to be worked on. Articles shouldn't have long trivia sections. Either put the important things in the article itself, or don't put them on at all. Wikipedia isn't about useless trivia. And on a side note, is this project even active? The talk page has only one other post. RobJ1981 14:20, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Yeah but the trivia is really interesting for people who see it.--Ani vedam 01:25, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- The problem still continues. Wikipedia isn't a guide to trivia: Wikipedia:Avoid trivia sections in articles is a clear guideline about this. Especially when an episode article is almost all trivia: that's a problem. "Interesting" or not, this isn't a fan's guide to every little note. I would think the SpongeBob project would care, but apparently not. RobJ1981 05:47, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
- I agree with RobJ. ->AMK152(Talk • Contributions • Send message) 01:39, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Project Directory
Hello. The WikiProject Council is currently in the process of developing a master directory of the existing WikiProjects to replace and update the existing Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Directory. These WikiProjects are of vital importance in helping wikipedia achieve its goal of becoming truly encyclopedic. Please review the following pages:
- User:Badbilltucker/Culture Directory,
- User:Badbilltucker/Culture Directory 2,
- User:Badbilltucker/Philosophy and religion Directory,
- User:Badbilltucker/Sports Directory,
- User:Badbilltucker/Geographical Directory,
- User:Badbilltucker/Geographical Directory/United States, (note: This page will be retitled to more accurately reflect its contents)
- User:Badbilltucker/History and society directory, and
- User:Badbilltucker/Science directory
and make any changes to the entries for your project that you see fit. There is also a directory of portals, at User:B2T2/Portal, listing all the existing portals. Feel free to add any of them to the portals or comments section of your entries in the directory. The three columns regarding assessment, peer review, and collaboration are included in the directory for both the use of the projects themselves and for that of others. Having such departments will allow a project to more quickly and easily identify its most important articles and its articles in greatest need of improvement. If you have not already done so, please consider whether your project would benefit from having departments which deal in these matters. It is my hope to have the existing directory replaced by the updated and corrected version of the directory above by November 1. Please feel free to make any changes you see fit to the entries for your project before then. If you should have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you. B2T2 21:09, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry if you tried to update it before, and the corrections were gone. I have now put the new draft in the old directory pages, so the links should work better. My apologies for any confusion this may have caused you. B2T2 23:54, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Guidelines
- I think we as a a project should come up with a list of guidelines for the many articles. We can add this to the temlate used on the talk pages. I have seen many trivia sections that have very odd trivia. I have some potential guidelines, please respond with any additions or discussion.
-
- The following should be removed from the articles:
-
- First/second/etc. appearance of _____.
- First/second/etc. time ______ event occurred should be removed.
- Goofs should be put as "notes" and have the proper <ref> format.
- ________ event is impossible because _________. If there is any way that it is possible, remove it. I have seen some such as:
-
- Coat rack in Krusty Krab wasn't in previous episodes (Explanation: Mr. Krabs must of added/taken it away various times) - same situation with furniture, clocks etc.
- All references to popular culture should have there own section in the article.
-
-
-
-
-
- I have just started the template (Template:WikiProjectSpongeBobGuidelines) and am adding old guidelines. -AMK152 04:22, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
-
- I have updated these proposed guidelines. I want to discuss stuff like whether or not we should removed the caption goofs. I would prefer that these would be removed. Thanks for any responses. -AMK152(Talk • Contributions • Send message) 01:50, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Interviews
If you would like to sign up to be interviewed, please tell me right here. I will randomly draw someone's name each month from the list, and I will interview that person. The interview will be published in the newsletter. I am hoping that the opinions of the members will help improve the SpongeBob articles on WikiPedia. -AMK152 14:13, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia Day Awards
Hello, all. It was initially my hope to try to have this done as part of Esperanza's proposal for an appreciation week to end on Wikipedia Day, January 15. However, several people have once again proposed the entirety of Esperanza for deletion, so that might not work. It was the intention of the Appreciation Week proposal to set aside a given time when the various individuals who have made significant, valuable contributions to the encyclopedia would be recognized and honored. I believe that, with some effort, this could still be done. My proposal is to, with luck, try to organize the various WikiProjects and other entities of wikipedia to take part in a larger celebrartion of its contributors to take place in January, probably beginning January 15, 2007. I have created yet another new subpage for myself (a weakness of mine, I'm afraid) at User talk:Badbilltucker/Appreciation Week where I would greatly appreciate any indications from the members of this project as to whether and how they might be willing and/or able to assist in recognizing the contributions of our editors. Thank you for your attention. Badbilltucker 16:07, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Episode Quotes to Wikiquote
Hi, I'm currently revamping the SpongeBob Squarepants page at Wikiquote, and I've noticed that many of the recent episodes listed on Wikipedia have quotes in them as well. I will gladly move them all over to the proper place, but I'm curious to where on Wikipedia I should point people to the direction of Wikiquote. I am aware that there is a link to Wikiquote from the main SpongeBob SquarePants Wikipedia page, but I'm afraid of people continuing to add quotes in the episode pages, with out realizing they're in the wrong place. So I guess I'm asking if I should add the { { wikiquote } } template to the end of the episode pages or watch the episode pages for all quotes and remove them if they should reappear. Thanks! Curlyro 03:05, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
- There is a note in the WikiProject template on the Talk pages. Adding a Wikiquote link would be a great idea. Putting the link to Wikiquote on the episode Template would be a sugguestion as where to put it. -AMK152(Talk • Contributions • Send message) 12:26, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Boating School#Plot needs to be wikifed
I feel that the more words in the plot need to be wikifed. If you are going to wikify a word, read WP:MOS#Wikilinking first before doing it. Do not wikify words such as "he." Squirepants101 16:11, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] SpongeBob_SquarePants:_Creature_from_the_Krusty_Krab#Plot needs to be rewritten?
I was just looking at the plot here and feel that this too needs to be rewitten better and not in levels either, but in an actual plot-line, so to speak. However, I can not rewrite it myself, as I have not played the game myself. Captain Drake Van Hellsing 08:28, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
