[edit] Skateboarding

[[1]]] Went ahead and started that and it kind of relates to this. Probably wasn't supposed to, but yeah. Join up or whatever. Doctor Lyles Carlton III 03:38, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Crazy A's

Let me know if you're monitoring this.. an anon has been changing all the capital A's to Å's in the CKY Band article. I guess this is OK but will inevitably lead to some being capitalized and some not. Anybody who wants to patrol these or change them back, go ahead. Deizio talk 00:16, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Getz

  • Kerry Getz - I removed something sourced from a forum about the act of removing a skating obstacle - the one in question was a marble bench outside a courthouse - as being "getz'd". Anyone heard of this?
  • Yeah, basically, Getz went "hockey temper" while skating Durham Courthouse in Durham, NC. He was asked to leave but didn't, so they tore out the marble bench, and now a bunch of people that live around there want to beat him up. [[2]] might have something about it, but I doubt it, everything pretty much went down in forums. I COULD write an article for it on my little site and you could use that as a source, it'd be reliable as SkateNC and since my site is NC skateboarding related wouldn't really be "cheating" but I bet that's against some kind of rule.... Doctor Lyles Carlton III 09:50, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
The rule of thumb is that external sources deemed reliable will have a Wikipedia article about them. Would your site meet WP:WEB? Deizio talk 14:01, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

I don't think so. Doctor Lyles Carlton III 02:40, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dico's Website

On RadioBam (and I know they don't count as sources) but, Official MySpace pages. It was released that Brandon DiCamillo will have his own website soon. He is currently working with a web designer to create what he wants. When his website is done, that will count as a reliable source right? If so then I would also like it to be added to his Wikipage. ClayteX 19:11, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

Hmm possibly not a "reliable source", but you will be able to add it to the external links on dico's page and perhaps incorporate some stuff, eg biographical information. As you're finding out, the CKY universe is not the most "reliably" reported sphere of interest. We'll see what happens when it goes live. Deizio talk 23:32, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Pat Margera

Would there be any possible way to find a reliable source for Patrick Margera? I think that, that would be really intresting to make a Wikipage on him. Seeing that no one knows much about him except that he was in prison. He is a part of the Margera family.

On second thought, you think that it would be alright to add him to the cKy crew article, since Mum Mum and Pop Pop are on there? This is just a thought no need to take it that seriosly, just tell me your thoughts on this topic.

I don't think he's really part of the crew, he turns up on VLB in the family reunion ep, any others? I think MM and PP are at least listed on the MTV site and in some interviews.Deizio talk 01:33, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
Though he turned up on one episode, he isn't a notable character in the VLB/CKY universe. Bam's other uncle Matt ("shitbird"), April's brother, is a much more notable member of the crew since he lives with Bam and appears consistently on the radio show. I think Matt should be added to the CKY Crew page. Also, Jason Ellis should be removed, as he really isn't part of the crew outside of appearing in one VLB episode. In fact, Brandon Novak has a long standing feud with Ellis and openly trashes him (and not in a ribbing sort of way) every time his name is mentioned. - Ocatecir 05:56, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Ellis appeared on VLB episodes 1.8 (Scavenger Hunt), 2.4,2.5 (Mardi Gras) and in Haggard, which I think is adequate. As for Matt Cole, does he pass WP:BIO? Deizio talk 10:14, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Exactly, I really support Shitbird having a place on the CKY crew page, Do you think we can make this happen? ClayteX 18:52, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
I'm fine with anyone with a decent connection to CKY being in there. Pat Margera probably no, a brief appearance isnt really enough. Cole? How many appearances has he made, I can think of VLB family reunion and Spring break special, Gnarkill.. anything else? Deizio talk 23:48, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
He appears regularly on Radio Bam, occasionally playing songs with the "Matt Cole and the Shitbirds." - Ocatecir 08:19, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
This may cover Ocatecir's post a little, but he owns "Shitbird Studios" in West Chester, PA, That is where Gnarkill recorded there last album (GnarKill vs. Unkle Matt and the ShitBirdz). He also mentioned on RadioBam that he had tought Bam everything he knows about recording music, which led on to of couse, little stuff like Gnarkill and OTIMEN RECORDING HELL (a.k.a. Bran's Freestyles). ClayteX 18:54, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] OTIMEN RECORDING HELL

Why did "Otimen Recording Hell(a.k.a. Bran's Freestyles)" get removed from Brandon DiCamillo's discography? It is a published album, eveything about it is real and factual. It was like Gnarkill but his own style, a way to express and put whatever he wants on a track, and not to have a producer tell him what tracks he can have and what he can't. I just think it should be added agian, since that is Dico's most famous album. Unlike his bootleg, which I am actually gald got deleted, becuase it served no purpose on Wikipedia. ClayteX 19:34, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

If you do put it up don't redlink it, just leave it unlinked. Deizio talk 01:47, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Corey Duffel

I was wondering(since their is no page on Corey Duffel) if I could create one, I would source and have refrences. He is also a WP:Notability kind of guy. He is a really popular PRO skater, and since this page covers CKY/skating I thought that I could make one? Would this be alright? I will make it, I know it will pass dont worry. ClayteX 18:53, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

After googling I think there is enough sources out there to satisfy WP:V. Go for it. Just make sure its well sourced and place a "hangon" tag while you are writing it to avoid the speedy delete nazis that prowl. - Ocatecir 19:18, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
I tried to make the page once, and I put the "hangon" template on the top. But right whenever I pressed "Save Page" and it had a speedy delete template on their. I had 3 Reference links, and 4 External links on the page, perfectly source. But it still deleted it. On all the other pages I had made, it had the speedy deletion temp. on it, but never was deleted, and had less sources than my Corey Duffel page. I need help. ClayteX 16:55, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Try writing it in word first and putting it all up at once. Also, don't be afraid to remove the speedy delete template and message the editor who put it up to let him know what you are doing. If the article doesn't meet speedy delete criteria, which a well-researched article wouldn't, and he still wants the page gone, he'll have to put it up to a AFD which gives you time to build the article to address any criticisms to create an article with staying power. Also if you're having bad luck with one particular admin, maybe just wait to create it at another time when he or she isn't on. WP has gotten a real low tolerance lately for new articles (and I don't blame them, the level of patent nonsense seems to be growing exponentially.) - Ocatecir 17:20, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rudy & Blitz

I am in the prosses of making a Rudy & Blitz article, Would this be a notable band, I'm sure it would they have made records and includes Chad I. Ginsburg. ClayteX 19:18, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

I think theres a WP:MUSIC criteria which states bands containing a notable musician are notable. Deizio talk 02:15, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
Ok thanks, I will definatly check over it, and most likely create the page soon. ClayteX 13:06, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bam's Unholy Union

  • BUU, needs to become a article on Wikipedia, now that it has aired it is all notable. Feedback? ClayteX 19:14, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
Go for it. - Ocatecir 20:06, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Deiz, can you unlock Bam's Unholy Union so that Bam's unholy union can be moved there for capitalization? I tried moving the page but it couldn't go through, saying "Protected Page." Thanks. - Ocatecir 03:34, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
  • All done. Deizio talk 03:55, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Gnarkill Album

How come on Cdbaby.com, on the first Gnarkill album it says that it sold over 500,000,000 copies, becuase we all now a novelty band like Gnarkill could never do that good with albm sales. here is the link if you would like to see for yourself. (http://www.cdbaby.com/gnarkill) ClayteX 19:34, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

You've been around WP long enough, don't believe everything you read on the internet... Deizio talk 00:02, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
They probably meant 500,000. There's only 5 left on Amazon right now, so its selling pretty well. But 500mil would make it the greatest selling record of all time. We know that isn't the case. - Ocatecir 14:32, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] IASC war against blanks

This subject is becoming more and more important everyday. I gather skateoarding news everyday for my website and so far there has been a number of important articles on this subject, proving that IASC is serious about the issue. This in term has caused a lot of neative response on user forums, examples: [3] and [4]

There is a some behind the scenes dealing going on also. Many have stated that Jamie Thomas now gives better margins to shops that don't sell blanks. There is a lot of sensible comments of the subject in the forums, althougt there hasn't been any such article which could be referenced yet. On top of that, magazines and softgoods companies have styed away from commenting, although Lakai posted news that they don't want to be in this war. If you need an insigt into this problem, read the references I put into the article.--KoRnholio8 07:37, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

  • Am I missing something here? This is the wikiproject for CKY. - Ocatecir 08:24, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
Deizio suggested that we make this subject more clear, nd said we could do it here. And is says on the forntpage that skateboarding issues can be resolved here.--KoRnholio8 08:32, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Oh, ok. - Ocatecir 08:34, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
  • Well, I suggested you mention it here because I'm not really bothered about it... also, the existence of only one source and the heavily WP:NPOV tone of the article gives me even greater concerns. Don't take this the wrong way, but this will have to be edited, and may have to go to WP:AfD to see if it meets Wikipedia's content policies and guidelines. Deiz talk 09:47, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Here's another important face cashing in on the issue [5] Also, the IASC represent the opinion behind "all" the major brands in the industry. Plus the TWS Buisness is a very reliable source, don't you think. And for further justification please read the 32-page supplement, because it is very clear who has which opinions.--KoRnholio8 10:17, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Not relevant - Wikipedia articles must satisy Wikipedia policies, by the content contained within - making assertions on talkpages doesn't really help. Also, remonstrating here without demonstrating a clear understanding of Wikipedia policies will not do you any favours. Concentrate on editing the article and let's have any further debates on it's talkpage because this really has moved out of CKY territory. Put WP:V, WP:N, WP:RS and WP:NPOV at the top of your reading list. Forgive my tough love approach, but it's the best way to sort out this article. Deiz talk 10:42, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Universe

  • I think that Tim Glomb should be removed from the CKY template "S. Cast". He is not a "CKY" cast supporter, he is a Viva La Bam cast supporter. Glomb did not meet Bam until late 2002, and right before they started Viva La Bam. So therfore he was not involved in any of the CKY projects at all. ClayteX 17:28, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
  • I agree. - Ocatecir 18:35, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
Comes down to the difference between the CKY Videos and what could be termed the CKY universe... with Haggard, VLB, BUU etc etc the definition now extends beyond, imo, the 4 original videos.. Glomb was pretty integral to a lot of what happened on VLB.. if he's taken off thats fine but I stand by my point about CKY being a more inclusive term these days. Deiz talk 23:47, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
True. He is pretty good friends with Bam and Vito now. He goes with Vito to signings and was there for Bam's bachelor party. While he's not an original member, he is part of the cky universe. - Ocatecir 00:48, 16 February 2007 (UTC)
I've edited the template to reflect the core members as consistent with the CKY Vids article, and added Jenn as she has been a pretty major player in the wider world of CKY. Deiz talk 11:31, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Jess Dinosaur quote

So far it seems like there is only one editor dedicated to including that on WP. We should hold off on including it in the encyclopedia until we can find a nontrivial independent source that can confirm that Jess indeed received rabies from a dinosaur bite. Ocatecir Talk 16:35, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

User: Godzfire blocked (24h) for ignoring final warning and reincluding. Deiz talk 11:22, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Protection

I've highlighted the fact I'm an admin on the participants list. If any article is getting heavily hit with nonsense or vandalism (eg 5+ times in one day, or repeatedly for several days) bring it to my attention and I'll look at temporary semi-protection. Deiz talk 03:05, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Vito is now protected, also one user blocked for not getting the hint after a pile of articles about OiL demo tapes were deleted the first time around. Deiz talk 22:33, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Game?

  • Bam the game page was created by someone. I'm not sure if this is true or not.
Google doesnt turn up anything. The closest I could find was Bam talking abut a future game [6] and I remember him once saying something about it on Radio Bam, but other than that nothing about it can be found. Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. I think it is a hoax. Taking it to afd... Ocatecir Talk 19:02, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
