This wikiproject is intended to be similar to the WikiProject Stub sorting.

[edit] Project goals

This WikiProject aims primarily to sort categories of articles in Wikipedia. To do this the project has the following aims:

  1. Make sure that the structure of categories and subcategories that make it easy for users to browse through similar articles.
  2. Make sure that categories used are relevant to the topic.
  3. Ensure that Articles are not on both a category and its subcategory.
  4. Ensure that categories appear without annotations, and are inline with WP:NPOV.
  5. Ensure that categories are used in articles in an uncontroversial and self-evident manner

[edit] Why is categorization important?

Categories are navigation aids. Anyone browsing an article Wikipedia will more likely also want to browse similar articles. Generally speaking an editor that edits an article on a specific topic will also likely want to edit articles about similar topics.
