A very comprehensive article, the use of the 4 member photos in verticals is highly effective. Good gateway to other topics. The featured article status is rather old, there may be some improvement and removal of extraneous material possible. Should be reviewed again but lower priority than some of the articles needing lots of work. (I badged it "FA" because it WAS a FA article but I agree with the assignation of "A" for how it is now..) |

A short article. It's worth remembering that there is a limit to what can be said about some of these people but - despite Williams disappearing from the radar as quickly as he arrived, (he remains a fixture in Liverpool as a 'colourful character') - I think there must be interesting and useful material out there about his short time with the Beatles. He did write a book after all (which I read, nearly 20 years ago).
Article lacks even basics such as date/place of birth and photo.

This article needs work. Its hard for me to say how close to the fringe this article is, considering that the Beatles were instrumental in the development and implementation of the subject. Certainly, I think that a link from within a more pivotal Beatles article is a requirement, if one doesn't exist already, and I'm actually tempted to suggest a merge. Probably best to leave it on its own though: there is plenty of material in it as a free-standing article. The article needs some colour though - in the form of sections and a photo if at all possible.
- I'm confused, why is this an A-class then? Sounds like maybe a B ?? ++Lar: t/c 00:50, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

AfD |

I feel we as a Project don't have to take 'ownership' of this one. It's not a Beatles article, it's an article about an 'amusing' covers album.
I've tagged it with {{importance}}; save for a badly worded IP edit saying it was played at parties in "rural Florida" and once got played on a student radio station, there's no assertion of notability. 0 incoming links from mainspace.
Probably shouldn't be in category and I think it's a strong AFD candidate too (but I haven't Googled for it yet; waiting for others' comments first).
Update 22 Mar 06, result of AfD was keep. Suppose we have to take it under our wing? If so, what to do? It's a start class article at best. ++Lar: t/c 17:38, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
We might need a new category to put the Beatles-related stuff into (see discussion below at Beatlemania (musical)). For now, just regrade it as stub or start class or I guess. --kingboyk 18:10, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

Merge |
No |
I first looked at this yesterday and didn't really know what to say. Of course Beatlemania is an important concept (although in a way it's just a word, a dictdef if you will). Strip out the list of chart performances and the section on a musical of the same name (which needs its own article, or none at all if not notable) and all we're left with is a couple of paragraphs. I've therefore added this to the new section at the bottom - articles which are about the general history of the Beatles, and which together form multiple merge candidates. Second opinions invited. |

This feels like it should be 3 articles, or maybe 2, since there are DVDs and two different albums covered by the article. Somewhat unstructured but a lot of material there. Needs album and dvd covers
2nd opinion: The albums already have their own articles. I think this should be retained as an overview page but cleaned up. We can use the "main article" thing to point people to the articles on the albums. I'd favour one strong article (i.e. this one, expanded) on the TV series, DVDs and books. Can always be split out later if gets too large. Definitely needs a splash of colour. --kingboyk 05:08, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

Another horrible article and like Beatlemania I'm slightly at a loss as to what to suggest. It's part dictdef, part analysis of a real, enyclopedic concept, and part (muchly) fan cruft. Needs to be transwikied, trimmed, or merged. I think removing the cruft and merging the encyclopedic stuff somewhere might be best. Second opinions invited. A major problem with this article is that it seems to have degenerated into a list of various editors' remotely-Beatleesque favourite bands. |

This article is an essential part of The Beatles project, but it could perhaps benefit from copyediting, some sources citing and perhaps a better picture or infobox at the top. Q: Was Best a member of The Silver Beetles?
- Silver Beetles was just a shortlived name for the same band. I don't see that it matters a great deal. I agree with Mal's rating but it's at the upper end of B class. This is one of the better "peripheral" Beatles articles we've evaluated so far. It's nowhere near A class, but it's a very decent start. kingboyk

I would place this article at the lower end of A-class. It needs sections, sources & citations, another photo (or infobox) at the top, copyediting and an expansion of the first paragraph to create a better introduction. As an extra comment here, I'd like to suggest that Epstein's interest in John Lennon, from a sexual perspective, may well have been pivotal in his motivation to launch the band, as documented in a very comprehensive biography I read many years ago. Of course, a source for that would need to be cited, and the fact carefully edited to avoid any possibility of offence to any sexuality. |

There is no official "References" section, and few, if any, in-line references, but the article is very well-rounded. I'm gonna stick my neck on the line and say this article is crap. It's an essay not an article, it has no photos, it repeats a lot from other articles, and it's been neglected. Our big project - and it's gonna be a task and a half - is to look at this and similar forkish articles and merge them back into the main article or (because of probable size issues) re-fork from The Beatles, seriously trimming the content in The Beatles to avoid this pointless overlap.
I'm certainly not proposing an AFD-style deletion of the article, but whether The Beatles' history section gets forked for a second time to here (with any good bits from History of The Beatles retained) or whether History of The Beatles gets replaced with a redirect must be up for discussion (see Wikipedia:WikiProject_The_Beatles/Article_Classification#The_big_ones). Note: Article was nominated for deletion in 2004 and the same issues remain. The difference is we're now here and we're gonna do something about it! :-)

This is an excellent, if frivolous, article, brimming full with information. The drawback of this is that the TOC is quite long. While the subject itself I would say is notable, it wouldn't be notable enough to warrant splitting any of the sections. It needs some tweaking, but not much, to gain FA status.

Lacking a discography. Needs sections. Seriously needs some photos because - as George Harrison said about Klaus - everybody's heard about him but most people haven't seen him. Could use some examples of his artwork (e.g. Revolver and Anthology covers, some of his other art, it would be fair use I think). Needs expansion - there's lots of factoids and no real narrative.
Klaus Voorman is a major figure in the Beatles history - he's touched their lives for nigh on 40 years - and he deserves a strong article, much stronger than this.
