Note: As of now, I am withdrawing commitment to this project. (School can do that to you.) Thanks for all of the help. All of my sources (copyrighted, FAIR USE ONLY) can be found here. Maybe I'll get back to it someday. --Arithmomaniac38 00:46, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
The Qatar data looks like it has potential, but is boilerplate, worn, and haphazard. The goal is to polish off every article in the entire section as follows:*
- Read all of the articles and post areas that need improvement by combing through each category.
- Do research on each article
- Clean up articles
- Add research to each articles
There is little good information on the English Internet about Qatar, and I hope that this will change that, despite the many times I will not be available.
Stage Two can begin! I was going to do research first, but decidied that knocking off easy edits for the list below would be a better idea. Thanks, --Arithmomaniac38 22:01, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
Here is a collection of essental resources: The Country of Qatar In addition, use the online databases on your library card! For local use, use PDFCreator. (I already did Gale Virtual Reference Library and Proquest.) --Arithmomaniac38 23:14, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

- Zubarah needs a city template.
- Public holidays in Qatar needs a brief description of each holiday next to its name, and perhaps its date of introduction.

- ASPIRE Academy, Qatar needs expanding and cross-links.
- the articles in Category:Qatari football clubs are stubs.
- Music of Qatar is a stub. It could, for example, use popular artists.
- Communications in Qatar could be put into a template box and have a body text written in general language.
- Qtel should include more information about its founding, as found here.
- Economy of Qatar should include other sectors of the economy, as well as diversification efforts. the numbers should be in a template box.
- Education in Qatar should have more information on Qatari curriculum, school organization, etc.
- Education City, Qatar should explain the history and appearance of the complex.
- Al Jazeera Academy, Carnegie Mellon University (Qatar), Texas A&M University at Qatar and University of Qatar are stubs, but UQ seems fine. Only Texas A&M has a college infobox.
- Demographics of Qatar has a middle irrelevant paragraph, and the data on the bottom should be in an infobox (even if no such one exists as of yet). More CIA information should be written into the top paragraphs.
- Military of Qatar, Foreign relations of Qatar, Ahmad ibn `Ali al-Thani, List of prime ministers of Qatar and Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani, are stubs. Ahmad does not have a fancy stub box, and neither of these two have pre/successor infobox.
- History of Qatar needs expanding, especially for the the modern era.
- The Scout and Guide Association of Qatar is a stub, but it seems fine.
- Jaralla Saleh Mohammed Kahla Al Marri is only about his detention case. There is no information about his life or when he was arrested.
- the Qatari Politics category should be merged with "government of Qatar".
- All of the Qatari weightlifters and Qatari athletes are stubs, except for Saif Saaeed Shaheen (some are not tagged as such.)
- Politics of Qatar needs an update and expanding towards the bottom.
- Ahmad ibn `Ali al-Thani is a stub.
- Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani is a stub, and needs more linking of the content to the emir.
- Hamad bin Khalifa is a stub and lacks NPOV.
- Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani and Abdullah bin Khalifah Al Thani are stubs, but has enough content.
- Qatari media needs creation, formatting, wikification, category tags, and perhaps a link to Freedom House. (It had existed, but was removed for copyright violation.) (Al Jazeera is not a focus of this issue.)
- Qatar ExxonMobil Open and all pages in the category "Qatar at the Olympics" are stubs.
- Qatar national football team, Qatar Football Association, and all of the Qatar football clubs [Save for Al-Sadd] are stubs. There needs to be a general article about sports and football in Qatar.
