[edit] Article suggestions

  • Also, for the history buffs in the group, articles are needed for Battle of the Clouds, Battle of Barren Hill. Also Battle of Germantown, which is usually listed as a key battle of the American Revolutionary War, is only a stub.
  • Lit Brothers Department Store and the Lits Building (Probably best in the same article?)
  • Independence Seaport Museum - at Penn's Landing. We already have good articles on the two vessels displayed there the USS Becuna and the Cruiser Olympia.
  • Philadelphia Public League (the high school public school sports league)
  • National Museum of American Jewish History http://www.nmajh.org/ right on independence mall too
  • Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. deserves a page, but I don't have the expertise to write it. It has several links. It meets the criteria at WP:CORP --evrik 18:27, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
  • Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education
  • Shawmont, Pennsylvania
    • Flat Rock Dam, Roxborough Reservoir and Shawmont Waterworks
  • Drinker, Biddle & Reath, [1]
    John Christian Bullitt

[edit] Need work

  • Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation
  • Eakins Oval - Started it. I would like to provide more history, but I cannot find information about it. (Coplan 03:15, 10 November 2006 (UTC))
  • Washington Monument (Philadelphia) - Considering the Washington Monument is such a huge part of Eakins Oval, I made it part of the Eakins Oval article. This now redirects to Eakins Oval. (Coplan 03:15, 10 November 2006 (UTC))
  • Valley Forge needs to be cleaned-up and organized. Right now, it's a mess. I think we need one page for the city of Valley Forge, one for the Park, and one for the encampment during the American Revolutionary War. There's more than enough info for each.

  • Thoughts? South Philly 03:08, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
Initial thoughts: Things like "Famous people" and "Civic groups and townwatches" seem like they're better in the article text (and, in the latter case, only if they're notable.) Also, note that "Median home sale price" will always need a citation. --CComMack 21:54, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

Delete "median home sale price"-- what value is that information? Add "zip code". Spikebrennan 18:37, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

On second thought, I second this — and the "rec centers" entry too. If a rec center is notable enough to mention, it can happen in article text. --CComMack 06:29, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
  • This all sounds good, does someone want to actually do it? evrik 16:17, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
    • I like CComMack's changes.evrik 21:21, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
    • I'd like to suggest change "Famous Landmarks" to "Landmarks", "Police District" to "Police District(s)", and "Zip Code" to "Zip Code(s)". The first suggestion us because I've seen infoboxes that are too wide, and the last two in case a neighboorhood is split between two districts or zips. Maybe change "Attributes" to "Details" RockinRobTalk 04:40, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
      • Sounds good to me. --evrik 15:11, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
  • What ever happened to this idea? --South Philly 14:57, 18 March 2007 (UTC)

Do we want to incorporate this information here? evrik 18:22, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

That might not be good. See Wikipedia:Reliable sources#Using online sources - "Posts to bulletin boards and Usenet, wikis or messages left on blogs, are never acceptable as primary or secondary sources. This is because we have no way of knowing who has written or posted them. In the case of wikis, the current content of an article is not guaranteed, being freely editable."
