At August 28 2006, of 233 articles, 18 are complete, 68 are over 50% complete, and 147 have 30 to 40% content. The percentage complete is estimated at 48%.


All articles have an appropriate table and category.

  • Every currently-open station has an article with at least a station adjacency table (see below).
  • Very few stations even have an introductory paragraph. Finishing these is the task at hand.
  • Flinders Street, Southern Cross, the City Loop underground stations and those on the Alamein line have good articles, and no urgent work is needed.
  • Beyond intro lines, stations need more complete articles. This is the next step.
  • Eventually, both the open and closed stations ought to have articles like Ashburton and Alamein (see above).

  • Number of Tracks (Number of tracks which pass through the station. Some tracks might have no platforms for that track (For example, East Richmond Station) or two platforms to a track (For example, Flinders Street Station.
  • Location - suburb, (Local Gov. Area?), adjacent street(s)
  • Nearby landmarks
  • Terminus station/shuttle services/line branches
  • Architecture
  • History
  • Station and/or platform arrangement map.
  • Dates - building begun/completed, opened, electrified (if opened pre-electrification)
  • Facilities (see Metlink Melbourne website)
  • All stop/express status
  • Tram/bus/train (on other lines) connections
  • Station Facilities and / or modifications. For example: "The carpark underwent an expansion in late 2005" or "This station was upgraded to a Premium Station in 2000".
