  18. Dalek has been on FAR for over a month two months now. The originally expressed concern was insufficient citations, which has (I think) been addressed, but late in the day concerns were aired about the quality of the prose: specifically that it was overly wordy and redundant in spots. I've tried to trim a bit, but I have an unfortunate tendency towards prolixity myself. I think we're past the point when the FAR would normally have been closed, but it's still open at the moment — therefore I'd appreciate it if someone gave this a copyediting fairly soon. Contact me on my talk page if you have any questions — thanks! —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 04:25, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
    • Ready for a ce; help would be appreciated. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 19:26, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
      • Two months on FAR now: is that a record? If it isn't, I don't want to challenge the current record-holder. I'd very much appreciate any help on this article. —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 09:31, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
        • I'd love to help, but can you be more specific about what you want done? I'm relatively new to this project, and at first pass it reads fine to me (it has a British voice, but that shouldn't be a problem).Trishm 11:04, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
          • Trishm, thanks for the help - have you read through the FAR link above? We need someone to throughly comb through it and make sure its prose is compelling and brilliant, per Featured Article standards. Yes, it's about a British topic, so should consistenly use British English. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 14:22, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
            • Thanks for the pointer.Trishm 07:08, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

  19. Same-sex marriage in Spain It has been copyedited and proofread by members of this project, but now at FAC some editors seem to find some prose issues still relevant. _Please_ someone help and copyedit it or tell me if it's okay as it is. Please! Cheers Raystorm 02:01, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

  20. Culture of California 1800s to mid 1900s I do not knoy why my article needs the copyedit tag. I do know that some sentences need repair and some of the lead needs clean-up. There are some choppy sentences in the text. Other than that I don't know hat else needs copyedit. Please inform me and help me. Showmanship is the key 01:01, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

    • A victory for the League and Deletionists. Rintrah 15:39, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
  21. I Not Stupid When failing this article's GA nomination, ExplorerCDT criticised the prose. The main criticism was "too many two-sentence paragraphs and short sections". I filed a GA review requesting for further clarification, and Wisekwai referred me here. This article has already undergone a thorough copyedit by E@L, but a copyedit by English experts, to ensure GA-quality prose, would be most appreciated. --J.L.W.S. The Special One 13:35, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
    • Hmm...I started this article, and the prose is grammatically sound. However, it's quite choppy and lacks flow. I've commented on the talk page. Gzkn 02:03, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
    • I've done all I can with it I think. Still quite choppy in places though, so someone more motivated than me may want to see what can be done. Gzkn 06:22, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

  31. Roe v. Wade came to FAR for lack of citations, and has an editor who is willing and able to reference the article; he's made a great deal of progress. The prose, however, is redundant, preachy, and at times descends into advocacy rather than encyclopedic prose. The editor is willing to do the referencing work, but we really need some serious copyedit help to tighten up and polish the prose. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 21:39, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

    • I'd consider referencing a single page to be a bit more troublesome - aside from centralizing the article's source to a single page, it almost seems as if there won't be as much of a need to individually reference every single bit of the article. --Sigma 7 03:39, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

  63. Panavision also been on FAR for more than a month, and not much attention was given to it until last Friday. I have added 50 citations, but cannot find a cite for this sentence: Subsequent Ultra Panavision films were Mutiny on the Bounty (1962), It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963), The Fall of the Roman Empire (1964), Battle of the Bulge (1965), The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965), The Hallelujah Trail (1965), and Khartoum (1966). Virtually all 70 mm prints of these films still in circulation are straight spherical (2.20 ratio), however, due to the rarity of 1.25x anamorphosers for 70 mm projectors today. Additionally, could somebody please go through the article for a copy edit? I did it myself, while I was referencing, but am afraid I might have overlooked something. The FARC will probably close on Monday. Thanks, and feel free to message me is you need any assistance. Jeffpw 22:44, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
While it was originally submitted to FAR for citation problems, objections have now been raised for its prose. Tony1 has said the issues are minor, and it probably wouldn't take the LoC long to polish it. I do hope somebody here can take a look at it, as I don't think myself capable of addressing the issues. Another contributer is already working on it, but attention from the LoC would be highly appreciated. It would be a shame for such an interesting article to lose its Featured status. Jeffpw 11:16, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Panavision is mostly cited and cleaned up and could use a copyeditor's review now. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 14:22, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
Panavision has received a huge effort to retain FA status over the last two months, it is now throughly cited and cleaned up, but it could really use some copyedit help on the prose. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 14:43, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

  65. Delhi has gone through peer review and is currently in FAC where it has been suggested by Pascal.Tesson that the article should be submitted here in the league. The article needs someone who is not much well-versed with the topic. I feel the article may be trimmed further. There is some concern about a particular section "Culture", which may need much more than simple copyedit. The section may need thorough re-writing and content enhancement. However, I do not request that to be done by the League. Copyediting of at least the rest of the article is requested. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 06:03, 13 January 2007 (UTC)
Specific concerns on Delhi: Some specific concerns have been raised in the FAC, such as an audit of prepositions, toning down of bloated words, word redundancy, ungainly snaking etc. Please see this post in the FAC. Thanks.--Dwaipayan (talk) 13:20, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

  66. Charizard: Pokémon. It was awkwardly worded, with many misplaced commas. Morgan89 00:55, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
      • (Moved here) Morgan89 did a good job cleaning this up. However, there are still quite a few deficiencies in prose that keep it from FA status. Gzkn 02:16, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
        • I copyedited some. There is an entire section under Role in the video games part where an entire section does not show up. My noobness prevents me from being able to fix this. I think it has to do with the refs. Someone with more experience should fix that.--Randalllin 02:53, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
          • It failed FAC (for the 5th time), so could be moved to regular section here. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 22:05, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

I have worked on this several times, but the Air Force section is defiant. Should this be made into paragraphs? Hmains 22:00, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
I don't know. Perhaps we should delete chunks of it, since it mostly consists of randoms facts. Perhaps we should group related facts together. I don't know...
Took a look at it. The problem is in forming some sort of coherent narrative. Perhaps a start could be made by breaking it up into sections, fighters and bombers, and other aircraft (e.g. transports, trainers, etc.) if there is mention of those. Move mention of these types of aircraft into their respective sections, then have the narrative flow chronologically. --BrokenSphere 02:49, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
I also had a try. The Air Force section shouldnt be deleted, but maybe separation from the rest of the article would help the rest, for the rest is in better shape.DGG 03:40, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
I've cleaned up the list of aircraft used, so at least that part looks better for now, maybe the list of armored vehicles should look the same. I'm also thinking the armored vehicles and air force sections should have their own pages. --BrokenSphere 03:46, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, I looked at that one and wasn't sure whether the dubious Plot section would be worth copyediting (although it certainly needs it). Perhaps a quick copyedit and mark odd sentences with {{fact}}?
Perhaps we shouldn't be so cowardly and just delete the whole thing, and then summarise it in fewer sentences—with less sweat, too. Sometimes a copyeditor needs to know when to wield an axe. Rintrah 14:59, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

  151. Monaco Grand Prix Current GA which has recently been placed on FAC. It's up to the normal standard produced by WikiProject Formula One, but I tend to feel that prose isn't our strongest point as a Wikiproject, so I'd be very grateful if someone more expert could look at it. Thanks. 4u1e 19:25, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
    • Criterion 1a has now been raised as part of an object. 4u1e
      • Can I place this on hold? Work on references is revealing more problems than I thought existed. If 'holding' is not an option, I'm happy to give up my place in the queue and return later. Cheers. 4u1e 22 February 2007 16:44
        • Pulling this from the "active" list, since our agreed policy is to not c/e an article that needs any other work. Left a note for 4u1e encouraging a "re-list" when the article's ready. Galena11 18:12, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
  152. Geography Cup may be a bit of a long shot for FA because of length, had a peer review but did not get much attention. I think a good copyediting would certainly help. Mr.Z-mantalk 23:49, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
    • Made a first pass copy-edit. Seems it still needs more consistency of tense or delineation of different tenses (the contest "is" versus "was"). Let me know if this edit helped.Unimaginative Username 05:43, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
      • It helped, but it probably won't make FA, due to no-consensus. I guess I'll try for GA when the FAC officially ends. Mr.Z-mantalk¢ 19:40, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
        • Took one more look at it and made some minor changes. Moving it to "done" since this is no longer an FAC candidate. Galena11 18:26, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
