This page contains guidelines for and documentation of the templates used in conjunction with temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

[edit] Summary

Each temple has a data page that stores the data to be used in the templates, of the form: Talk:Temple name/data. All the templates that format temple data use a single set of data for each temple. Thus updating the data for each temple will only need to be done in one location.

Using the data in multiple locations is accomplished by transcluding the datapage along with a format parameter, which indicates which template to use. Thus the calls to transclude temple data will be a call of the form {{Talk:Temple name/data | format= format template }}.

  1. ^ Are wikilinks allowed on the data page. Abbreviations:
        no - wikilinks must not be used - use will interfere with formatting
        yes - wikilinks should be used
        optional - wikilinks can be optionally included on data page
  2. ^ Templates in which the paramter is used
  3. ^ Fair use images should not be used on the data page since that would hurt any temple related pages that have featured status.
  4. ^ a b c d This will allow sorting by year in Compare list, and wikilinking to date format according to user settings. For example [[1937-03-06]] formats as 1937-03-06, formatted according to your user preference see screenshot
