Fáilte!, Welcome! Some Wikipedians have formed a project to better organize information in articles related to Gaelic Games. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians.   • We have passed the 800 (814 current total) mark for articles tagged with {{GaelicGamesProject}} good work everyone (Gnevin 00:23, 27 January 2007 (UTC))
  • Just read gaa.ie and discovered two new competitions called the Walsh Cup and the Kehoe Cup. Anybody any idea what these competitions are? If so, please add a description to the GAA Competitions page. Thanks. --Eamonnca1 18:21, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
  • Macca7174 has discovered {{4RoundBracket-Byesnoseeds}} which i've just added to Ulster Senior Club Football Championship 2006 this template allows for preliminary rounds and will be very useful for GAA articles. All members should have a look at it and keep it in mind when update or creating GAA competition pages with 9 to 15 teams (Gnevin 14:12, 7 January 2007 (UTC))
  • Someone installed Wikimedia here at work the other day for internal use and I'm blown away by how cool it is. I've fired an email off to Croke Park suggestion that they do the same and get an in-house wiki going to improve the content of gaa.ie. I'll keep you posted on how that goes, I'm sure there's plenty of people that would be willing to volunteer to help judging by the number of GAA wikipedians. --Eamonnca1 18:16, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
  • As of today at 1.40 we have 601 articial tagged as belong to the project , good work all (Gnevin 01:49, 13 December 2006 (UTC))
  • Created and moved club stubs to {{gaelic-games-club-stub}} , while create a template when need currently redirects to {{gaelic-games-stub}}(23:44, 24 November 2006 (UTC))
  • Created and moved football bio stubs to {{gaelic-football-bio-stub}}(23:44, 24 November 2006 (UTC))
  • Created and moved hurling bio stubs to {{hurling-bio-stub}}, gaelic football stub move to follow (23:44, 24 November 2006 (UTC))
  • Their is discussion at the Croke Park page see here about the inclusion of the fixtures of rugby and soccer , have a look
  • Created {{infobox GAA dualplayer}} a new infobox for dualplayers ,see Shane Ryan to see how it looks , any comments can be left here
  • {{Infobox GAA province}} has been updated to support the kits used in the railway cup(Gnevin 18:24, 3 October 2006 (UTC))

This WikiProject aims to create, expand and improve listings about and related to the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) and sports associated with it, such as hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, Gaelic handball, and rounders. The scope of the project covers the article on the sports, the competitions, the various GAA boards, club teams, and players.

  1. Clean up and put county GAA board article into the county format
  2. Tag articles talk pages with the {{GaelicGamesProject}} as articles are found that do not have the tag. Currently we have 1123 articles tagged as belonging to the project
  3. Create Camogie Association of Ireland
  4. Fixing up all the GAA Grounds pages with the set info box and the addition of pictures for all major stadiums.
  5. Add {{Infobox GAA player}} or {{Infobox GAA dualplayer}} to all player pages.
  6. Add correct infoboxes, categorys to Category:Gaelic Athletic Association stubs , next:B
  7. Complete review of Club championships many are missing winner, runners up etc
  8. Tag templates talk pages with the {{GaelicGamesProjectTemplate}} as templates are found that do not have the tag.
  9. Find incorrect disambiguations such as Paul McDonald (gaelic football) and replace with the correct Paul McDonald (Gaelic football)
