[edit] Cartography Department

Some people may like to get involved with the Former Countries project, but are more interested in just creating maps rather than working on the text content of entries on historical countries. If you are one of these people, the Cartography Department is the place for you.

For maps, each entry requires at least a map showing the location of the country under discussion (for the infobox). More detailed maps (showing major cities, etc) are also handy.

If you wish to be involved in this department, sign up in the below table.

[edit] What maps are needed?

Through the use of the {{WPFC}} banner, it is possible to indicate if a map is required, by adding the following to the article's talk page:

{{WPFC|mapneeded=yes}}

Any articles that are so marked will be listed at: Category:Former country articles requiring a map

The banner is still reasonably new, so this category is pretty empty. But you can simply go ahead and look through articles on former countries and start making maps.
