  1. 2004-12-29T22:45Z - I just think Wiikipedia has a systematic bias against many things biology and nature and chemistry and countryside. Specifically, it has a systematic bias when it comes to topics about sexuality. Wikipedia centers too much on human sexuality, but disregards things about biology that are essential to discussing sexuality. For, example, Wikipedia doesn't care to distinguish between "pregnancy" and "gestation" or sexual intercourse" and "copulation". Here on Wikipedia many people think that the world is just about the human world but not nature or natural sciences.
  2. A R King - Expertise in minority languages, both in and outside Europe. I am also "informally" interested in related non-linguistic issues, such as cultural/political etc. minorities. While sympathetic with the overall concept of trying to compensate for systemic bias, I think SB will always exist (and therefore always need to be fought against) because it is inherent to the encyclopaedic project. I also think it is deceiving (and betrays bias) to think that the English Wikipedia can or should be "unbiased", as opposed to other-language Wikipedias, which are what? allowed to be biased??
  3. Ahruman
  4. AJR - I pretty much fit the description of the "average wikipedian", but I want to do what I can.
  5. Alarm
  6. Ali_B05 -I think that America has too much influence on world affairs and the way that people always have to follow them.
  7. AlMac - I am a newbie here. My profession, for the past 40+ years, has been computer programming on mid sized computer networks, currently AS/400. I have had limited exposure to Analog Computers and other kinds. The vast majority of Wikipeans only know of Personal Computer which is a Systemic bias in discussing computer topics. AlMac 5 July 2005 21:26 (UTC)
  8. Ambi 08:48, 5 Oct 2004 (UTC) This has my absolute support - brilliant idea, and I'll do all I can to help out.
  9. Arnob1 - Hope to counter pro-Indian bias in subcontinent related articles (see Rabindranath Tagore nationality debate).
  10. Arny - Since I am not an "Average Wikipedian" (considering I am not a native English speaker), I hope I can be of some help in this. I consider myself mostly unbiased, or more precisely, when and where I am biased, it is almost always in the opposite direction than usual ;)
  11. Artificialard
  12. Asterion - Great idea!
  13. Attilios 17:35, 28 September 2006 (UTC) I'm having a clash with a couple of users (in particular User:Mangoe) regularly reverting my edits trying to offer a broeader point of view about rail technology. Further, I cannot stand US or UK people forgetting to write nationality of article subjects.
  14. Alex Avriette I'm more than happy to update articles with a "buddhist perspective," but I think it's important to notice also that many issues are simply irrelevant to buddhism. ... aa:talk 21:19, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
  15. B.D.Mills I have campaigned for some time on the issue of Northern Hemisphere bias, particularly the misleading usage of seasons as time references. More information on this issue may be found on my user page.
  16. Banno
  17. Baristarim 17:15, 15 October 2006 (UTC) Noble idea. It seems like a vicious cycle, the only way we can truly have a Wiki free of a systematic bias is if everyone spoke all languages of the world and lived in every country of the world (geopolitical bias); achieved a utopia having achieved class equality (that way we can have construction workers who also contribute etc) and generalized scientific education on a global scale (inclusion of non-scientific myths and narratives as being more important than scientific versions). I will try my best though :)
  18. bcatt - I am really noticing this bias in many ways. I think I have been successful in hoding it as a personal policy in my edits so far, but would like to up this effort to an more active level by specifically improving biased articles or portions thereof, and maybe even by specifically seeking out biased articles. Also wanted to note that a particular area of interest for me is a bias for highlighting, or treating as more important, articles on subjects that are very well known but restricted to a small or limited demographic than that of topics that are more widely (or even universally) applicable but are less well-known or realized. bcatt 00:51, 29 January 2006 (UTC)
  19. BCorr|Брайен
  20. BD2412. Law - I will certainly try to be more conscious of the distinctions between the common law and civil law distinctions.
  21. Ben Babcock - The "average demographic" describes me perfectly: young, interested in computers and physics, and I don't know much about agricultural science. But I'm willing to help out, and work on expanding my knowledge.
  22. Beowulf1 22:08, 8 March 2007 (UTC) - I've traveled and made friends broadly, including in the Middle East, so I could bring some of that experience to the table.
  23. Beth Wellington 22:59, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
  24. Big Adamsky - WP is a great source of facts and perspectives, with some pages containing biases and others overcompensating to preempt any accusations of bias, leading to bias ;-]. I have visited and lived in several countries and speak several languages and I feel I have a great deal to contribute in the fields of geography, history, current events and related social sciences.
  25. Bkwillwm - Native American and Latin American topics
  26. blankfaze - I'd like to cut down on as much bias/POV in the project as possible, but I'd especially like to keep Israel and its related articles free of bias. Some users, I've noticed, are on a mission to install a pro-Israel POV in the project.
  27. Blathnaid - I'll try to contribute to literature articles - there are a lot of works by significant authors that are missing or just stubs. Some history, geography and feminism too.
  28. Bontenbal - I think that there is systematic bias of the European Union. It's far more important than most UK/US people seem to think.
  29. Bookandcoffee - I have a rural background, and would like to bring that voice to W.
  30. [[User:Bosola|Bosola[[ - I'm a fairly average wikipedia user, but I understand the importance of this issue, and I do have access to a fair few resources (I can access, if needs be, the Cambridge university library or if really needs be the british library- as such, I can get hold of some pretty handy stuff).
  31. Brent Michael Davids - neutralizing American Indian articles of western bias, especially in American Indian music and relisious studies.
  32. BrianSmithson - Working on African topics, particularly regarding Cameroon. Uploading African photos to illustrate articles whenever possible.
  33. BRIAN0918
  34. Brz7 Brz7 20:58, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
  35. Bsktcase
  36. Burek 15:09, 18 November 2006 (UTC) would love to do what I can, I'm from Slovenia and I could present this point of view
  37. Carl Kenner 19:05, 16 April 2006 (UTC) - Although I'm a rich white guy, I'm also a feminist anti-racism activist who fights for the rights of the poor and oppressed.
  38. Carolaman - I am from Sri Lanka. So I could do articles on Sri Lankan people and other Sri Lankan things. I also could do articles on people from other small countries.
  39. cgfoz
  40. Charles Gaudette 08:21, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
  41. Charles Matthews - Main interests mathematics, where I have created biographies to include more Soviet, Indian, Chinese and Japanese mathematicians; poetry mainly Anglo-Irish 1900-1940 but Nancy Cunard brought me here; Go hence general interest in East Asia and this clean-up operation; Uganda about which I have hardly written on WP.
  42. Chico
  43. ChrisG
  44. cjllw|TALK - anything which addresses under-representation and promotes thoughtful awareness of the non-Anglo world in this Wiki is a Good Thing. I have particular interests in non-European history, Mesoamerica, central Asia, the Pacific, indigenous societies and languages, but am quite prepared to research on just about any given topic.
  45. Clubmarx - I'm up for working on art and design
  46. Cooper-42 - Particular interest in countering the lack of good articles on issues facing children and youth - and opposing articles which make assumptions about children, or do not include them whatsoever when they should. Also interested in at least pointing-out the anglo-centric nature of the bulk of wikipedia, and am constantly frustrated by how many people refuse to acknowledge how Judao/Christian-centric the wikipedia really is.
  47. Cúchullain t/c 22:35, 25 May 2006 (UTC) - Because I know Jesus probably didn't have blue eyes. This is one of the most important projects for us to do.
  48. Dan Goodwin - Plan to expand and review non-neoclassical economics
  49. Danbold - Sounds like a great project, hope I can help!
  50. DanKeshet - I'd like to learn more about lots of subjects, especially labor unions from the Global South.
  51. Danny - I am particularly interested in Africa and South and Southeast Asia, history and religion. Added a former prime minister of Burundi today to get the ball rolling.
  52. Danny Yee
  53. Datepalm17 - great project. I'd love to help. The place does rather need this.
  54. deadkid_dk - This has always been my ideology here. I'll be working on Chinese history, obscure Japanese games (such as bishojo games, which takes up one third of the gaming market but woefully underrepresented), and sometimes Hong Kong and Taiwan articles.
  55. DinoMo - Noble project to take on. I've done a great deal of research on "systemic bias" in portrayals of Islam and Muslims, so most of my contributions will probably be in that area. That, and sexism/gender bias. DinoMo 23:59, 1 February 2006 (UTC)
  56. Donama — Firstly interested in articles about non-Anglophone or non-Western communities, and grabbing content from the prominent non-English Wikipedias can help with that. Secondly interested in various farming articles.
  57. doviende - i'm interested in expanding feminist topics, articles about imperialism and the third world, and translating some spanish articles over.
  58. *drew
  59. drumguy8800 C T 09:42, 9 November 2006 (UTC) wooohoo.
  60. Duey Finster - I dont feel as strongly about Systematic Bias, simply because Wikipedia will always be reflective of those who edit, be they in a minority or majority. I do feel conscious about it when I edit, but putting a "Global View" or "Local View" isn't always the right thing to do, lets make sure it fits into the project, its encyclopedic and is fact with sources, of that I am much more concerned than Systematic Bias. Nevertheless I support the effort to get more people from every background concievable to help make Wikipedia the most valuable free knowledge resource in the world.
  61. Dvyost - helping to fill in West African history, particularly Mali, also interested in world literature.
  62. ElAmericano - I have lived in Mexico but am American. So you got the grammar, style, and perspective here. I'll help as much as possible.
  63. Eleassar - all my support. I have knowledge about Slovenia, as I live there. I also have noticed recently that many interesting biographies of not-so-well known people are missing.
  64. Elf-friend - Well, a lot of my articles seem to fall within this category already.
  65. Elizmr - I'm interested in eliminating systemic bias in articles having to do with the middle east. I have a background in biostatistics and have done editorial work. I fit the avg wikipedian profile to a great extent (except for gender) but have travelled and lived extensively in Asia and have familiarity with many Asian cultures and religions.
  66. ergot - Working on topics relating to West Africa, Nigeria in particular.
  67. Ericd - For anything I can help. BTW I believe I have some knowledge about the history of Burkina Faso.
  68. ErinENj - I'm very interested in helping in any way I can. I am a journalist and have a very strong belief in unbiased reporting of information. I have a background in journalism/news reporting, editing, and grammer, so I can help out in those areas. Also, I have a great deal of knowledge about chronic pain, back pain, the low back/lumbar spine, herniated discs, spinal surgery, health care and insurance in the United States, prescription medications especially narcotic medications, and similar health related issues. I have knowledge about New Jersey and the East Coast of the U.S., colleges in this area, and am somewhat skilled in internet research so I can help in finding sources and other information on any topic. I have access to journals (like medical journals, other sources that often have a cost related to accessing the source) until May 2007. I'd really like to be involved in developing this new and up-and-coming research source, and in helping the information on this site be as neutral and unbiased as possible so that it can help the people who, like myself, commonly use this site as a great source for all sorts of information.
  69. FaAfA (yap) Hope to counter American (USA) jingoism, self-deception and denial.
  70. FarQPwnsJoo - I'm really interested in the Middle East.
  71. Fastfission - history of scientific racism, African-American history, race/gender in science.
  72. Szvest - Islam, Africa and extraterrestrial life's related articles.
  73. Friðrik Bragi Dýrfjörð 17:41, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
  74. Felix Wan - can help in translating Chinese articles and in issues around East Asia.
  75. Filiocht - Mainly literature, especially women writers, hispanic writers, anything else I can help on
  76. Fionah - I've addd some worldwide info to the income disparity, teenage pregnancy and sex education pages. Also been working on gender differences. Looking out for limited geographical scope and pointing it out wherever I can. Some writers seem to forget that there’s a whole world out there beyond North America and Europe!
  77. Fipe
  78. GalaxiaGuy
  79. Gareth Hughes - mainly languages and religion: I've been working on various Semitic languages and trying to make the smaller Oriental Orthodox and Assyrian churches visible on pages that just suggest that Christians are Protestant, Catholic or Eastern Orthodox.
  80. Liz Henry will add some entries for women writers, writers in spanish and spanglish; interested in correcting/adding to the inadequate entries on feminism and women's history
  81. Gerrit CUTEDH - mainly politics, especially in Eastern Europe, Asia and South America. I use newspapers as sources.
  82. Gnanapiti - Interested in languages and cultures. Would like to improve articles on minority languages of India.
  83. Goldfritha -- been chiefly working on combating recentism; adding and expanding historical information, reordering to prevent most recent information being most prominent. Also working to expand fairy tales, where regional bias is showing because only a handful of old fairy tales are well-known now
  84. Grendel's mother - This is a must
  85. GRuban - I'm skeptical about this project being a big help, since the main page talks so much about "geographic bias", and yet the Open Tasks box tends to concentrate on minor American feminists (out of the 5 Requests I worked on so far, 4 were US-born women). But it's better than nothing, I guess, so will continue to write articles about them as they come up.
  86. Guinnog 17:14, 31 May 2006 (UTC) - Try to counter lack of good African articles. Eliminate anti-Science and pro-conspiracy theory agenda in many articles, but also balance some 9/11-related articles in the other direction.
  87. Harry491 - I actually don't know much about most of the world, but I think this is important.
  88. km5 Reduce the bias in general culture matters
  89. Helzagood - Specialism: Organic Chemistry, English and Greek culture. Turtle biology, international environmental law.
  90. Herenthere - Hong Kong and American (esp. NYC) articles, try to be more neutral.
  91. Hugh Parker - I edit articles to use more internationally neutral language.
  92. Humus sapiens←??? 21:51, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
  93. Idont Havaname - Arguing for inclusion of articles on WP:AfD that counter systemic bias; also occasionally editing articles related to the Philippines. Also interested in improving the number/quality of articles related topics covered by Britannica and other printed encyclopedias, given how we have many well-written articles on anime, sci-fi, popular culture, and events that occurred recently.
  94. Ilya - Wikipedia has a systemic bias on technology issues – many of Wikipedians are techies and write from that perspective. I would like to explore removing unnecessary technical lingo bias from common-interest articles. This would include pacifying the nearly-religious wars of Linux vs Microsoft that sometimes is very obvious in technology articles.
  95. User:Interlingua I think this makes a great deal of sense. I absolutely fit the "average Wikipedian" demographic: white, 40s, three advanced degrees, career in education. I'd be very interested in helping to expand coverage of India (where I lived for 5 years and learned Hindi and Tamil to fluency, although the latter has since disappeared), South America, Native American languages (I've dabbled in K'iche' and Quechua but didn't even get to WikiBable level 1).
  96. Jamie|C 19:53, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
  97. JAXHERE | Talk I'll pitch in and do what I can from time to time.
  98. JCarriker. Mainly interested in Sub-Saharan Africa, the U.S. South, and Eastern and Central Europe and Ancient Egypt. Usually write on geographic or political or historic subjects relating to my interests.
  99. jd2718 Mostly I'll just be aware of the problem. Sometimes POV is introduced by editors representing two sides to a conflict; if they compromise they might think they have achieved NPOV, when in fact those not at the table have been totally ignored; I'll look out for that. Jd2718 16:56, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
  100. Jeffrey Newman - arrived here, happily, via Lectonar but can't quite recall at this moment what I was doing there! Main interests are philsophical, esp. political, scientific.# iFaqeer - Africa, Islam (not just in the convential Islamophobia-Apologist way but, hopefully, in a "Let's get real" way), and First World-"Third Word" parallax. (Talk to me!) 20:53, Dec 16, 2004 (UTC)
  101. Jerry Orr - I've contributed a few articles to this, and I think it is an excellent project.
  102. JesseW - Good project. I hope you have great success.
  103. Jmabel - Inactive
  104. User:Jrleighton. Lived in 3 different countries. Am concerned about Wikiprojects that have not taken account of the CSB issue. e.g. Wikipedia_talk:Status_of_the_porting_of_the_CIA_World_Factbook#Military_and_Communication
  105. Jwillbur - no particular area of expertise, but I add what I can to under-represented topics
  106. Jxg
  107. KNewman - interested in anything that deals with Russia or USSR.
  108. Kylehamilton - Film Student
  109. Lar - Showing support, and would appreciate people surfacing bias I may have inadvertantly introduced into my editing here.
  110. Laualoha I am a Kanaka Maoli (native Hawaiian) mother and writer. I?m really glad this project exists!
  111. Laughing Man
  112. Lectonar - Central Europe
  113. Lethiere 03:09, 29 September 2006 (UTC) I found CSB's article to be impressively dead-on, so here I am. I live in the USA but mostly edit articles about royalty, nobility and titles, and as these tend to be highly Eurocentric on WP, I want to help as and where I can.
  114. Bryce 07:56, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
  115. Linberry - I'd like to add some more UK and European information.
  116. Lindenb 16:53, 19 March 2006 (UTC) - WHAT'S UP WITH THE NAZISM? In the past few weeks we have had Featured Articles on "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" and on "Triumph of the Will", and now I see that there is a new portal on Facism. What is up with that?
  117. Lisa - I'm especially interested in getting content from other language wikipedias and mentoring/inviting friends who speak a plethora of other languages to help.
  118. Loren - Interested in and familiar with geopolitics (esp. East Asian), and the physical sciences. Signing up after becoming fed up with seeing articles short on content but long on "Trivia" sections devoted to the most obscure and tangential references in pop culture.
  119. LQ - Working to add biographies of notable female and non-US scientists; later activists. Also dealing with language issues.
  120. Macgreco - Brazil-related topics.
  121. Mamawrites - women, world cultures
  122. Mark Dingemanse — Especially keen on countering the systemic bias of Wikipedia in the area of African languages and linguistics.
  123. Mattisse — Working to providing neutral language in articles relating to such countries as Iran, Syria, Turkey, Pakistan, Haiti, Cuba, countries in Central and Latin American, and neglected countries currently not the center of focus such as the former Russian republics and Africa.
  124. MalcolmGin - anti-racism, anti-sexism, anti-classism, intersex/transsexual experience, queer experience, other specialties in Chinese-American experience, Chinese martial arts and philosophy, mixed race experience in the U.S., various forms of activism. Unfortunately, I only speak/write U.S. English, but if I do acquire other languages, of course I will use them to help!
  125. Mcmachete - My primary interest is neutralizing the inherent bias present in support of Cuba's government, Fidel Castro and Che Guevara found in related articles.
  126. mennonot - I think this project is vital to the long term relevance and viability of Wikipedia. Great to see so many people signed on. My area of interest is corporate globalization and Latin America, especially often neglected smaller cities (i.e. Barrancabermeja).
  127. Miborovsky - is working on the Second Sino-Japanese War, which PRC, ROC, USA and Japan all ignore/downplay. It's a personal fight. Also a bit on Chinese military history in other periods. Also works on a few science related stuff but Wikipedia has enough of those. ;)
  128. Mocko13
  129. moink - I fit the "average Wikipedian" description in every way except gender. I'm willing to help especially with feminism-related articles (specifically those related to equality feminism and liberal feminism) as well as biographies of women in science, engineering, and aviation. My major contribution thus far has been tagging feminism-related articles such as maternity leave and rape shield law as US-centric... it seems getting around one type of systemic bias correlates to incorporating other types.
  130. Moondyne - This is such an important facet of Wikipedia. Will help in any way I can. -- Moondyne 12:17, 24 October 2005 (UTC)
  131. Morningstar2651 - Discrimination.
  132. MPerel - went to see Hotel Rwanda the week it opened and the theater was empty, though other movies were sold out. The genocides going on in Africa are getting far too little attention in the English-speaking media.
  133. Musaabdulrashid --Musaabdulrashid 10:20, 18 July 2006 (UTC) Whatever we can posibly do.
  134. Mustafaa - Good idea, for a bunch of stuff. North African History WikiProject, anyone? Or Afro-Asiatic languages? Or Islamic prophets? Or major, lethal conflicts which the media doesn't cover much cause they're between poor people?.... well, you get the idea.
  135. nach0king - Specialism: Politics, soccer, others
  136. Naif - I wish to challenge the systematic bias toward excessive technicality, rationalism, systemization, and categorization.
  137. Nannus I am mainly working on non-western (e.g. African) cultures (music, languages etc.). Many articles I see are Euro/US-centric and many I am searching for are missing. As far as my time allows, I'll try to contribute to change that.
  138. Natebw - Though I am a skeptic by nature, I have an interest in alternative health, specficially alternative vision care.Natebw 20:24, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
  139. Neutrality (talk)]] (For women and feminism)
  140. Ngb 17:23, 13 Dec 2004 (UTC)
  141. Nichalp – trying my best to push India-related articles to FA status. The bias is very true in India, most contributors are from India's metropolitan cities. July 5, 2005 07:14 (UTC)
  142. nkayesmith Reduce the american bias.
  143. nspeelman
  144. Ombudsman 18:53, 15 May 2006 (UTC)
  145. Omphaloscope - Since I "am male, am technically-inclined, am formally educated, speak English to an extent, am White, am aged 15-49, am from a predominantly Christian country, am from an industrialized nation, and am more likely to be employed in intellectual pursuits than in practical skills or physical labor," I have systemic bias, just like Wikipedia. I'm interested in improving both entities. 26 Aug 2006
  146. OpenToppedBus - I'd love to turn the List of places in Afghanistan blue.
  147. Pablo D. Flores - I've just discovered this list but have already CSBed a bit, mainly on linguistics. Up for anything including Argentina, manga/anime, science, science-fiction, computing...
  148. Pedant - I came here because some of my favorite editors have this page on their 'what links here link'. I'm interested in everything, but I've sort of adopted Clown and related articles, since I have worked with and booked clown acts for over 20 years, and have taught clowning to several professional clowns. I think that 'things that aren't on the web' are in desperate need of being added to Wikipedia. I'd like to see some of the idiomatic English reworded to be more globally understandable by people for whom english is not their native tongue. I also edit a lot on legal issues (I read "legalese" and am fairly good at translating it to readable English), human rights issues, environmental protection and anti-pollution issues. My home page is set to the random wikipedia page, I typically surf my way in through there. I often edit topics I know nothing about, to learn more and to make them more readable by someone who knows nothing about the subject. I'm a rabid cross-referencer. I will happily spend time on any page that's drawn to my attention.Pedant 22:52, 2004 Oct 25 (UTC)
  149. Peregrine981 - Can draw on my vague recollections of a few African history classes in university. Currently living in S. Korea, may learn enough to help with that area.
  150. nixie - my main interests are in agriculture and development
  151. Pete 08:42, 8 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  152. Pteron - count me in! I'm most interested in issues pertaining to Africa & the African Diaspora, labor movements and gender issues.
  153. Punkmorten - biography creator
  154. Randy Johnston
  155. R.D.H. (Ghost In The Machine) 23:20, 13 October 2005 (UTC) Bias...we all have it. But acknowledging it is only the first step. Maybe this project will help us take the next step towards alleviating it. And I refer here not only to the geographical, linguistic and demographic biases, but temporal ones as well. Together let us strive to make the Wiki not only more global in its outlook, but to stand up against the herd mentality bias towards fashion/flavor of the moment. Let us BE BOLD in championing the obscure, the neglected and the unpopular.
  156. Rdsmith4 - I'll help where I can.
  157. Redux (talk contribs) - I have dedicated some time to a particular kind of neglected article: the "embarrassing article". Many articles are neglected, and many topics are forgone, because their subjects are deemed embarrassing, in connection with being perceived as unimportant, frivolous or puerile, which ultimately either prevents Wikipedia from having a decent coverage of the topics or allows for the existing articles on this type of topic to degenerate into something that is not encyclopedic. Research on the topics is usually relativelly easy (although severe filtering may be required in order to maintain an encyclopedic level), but the more skilled users will not touch them, unless their intervention is motivated by the need to resolve revert/content conflict or technical issues (too many redirects, unsuitable language, etc.). So I make it my business to include some of the topics that are left out unjustly and, once the topic is in, I strive to keep it within encyclopedic standards. As examples, I have created many articles related to tv shows and worked hard on some of them and others that I did not create myself to maintain the Wikistandard.
  158. Reggaedelgado - I am especially interested in topics and articles that need more culturally competent or inclusive language and facts... I find that far too many articles reflect and are limited to a "white" view and sometimes reject a fuller understanding.
  159. Rekarb Bob 15:22, 6 July 2006 (UTC) This is really important. I am an American, but realize that Wikipedia is a global endeavour and want to get rid of American bias from the inside. Who better than an American to find it? Right now you all should check out the debate at Talk:The Price Is Right#Move - it is just a silly game show, but there is a lot of American bias there about placing an international disambiguation page!
  160. Reverie
  161. Esquizombi 13:03, 22 March 2006 (UTC) - I am pretty close to the definition of an average wikipedian, but have knowledge and interests outside of the norm and see CSB as worthwhile.
  162. Sean (talk || contribs)
  163. Secretlondon
  164. Sepa 20:40, 10 May 2006 (UTC) - I am working to translate articles from the Indonesian Wikipedia into the English one.
  165. Sesel — I've been a CSB "fellow traveller" for a while now, so I thought I might formally sign up. I usually contribute relatively minor (usually politics-related) things across the spectrum like articles for Américo Boavida, Estonian Workers' Commune, or President of Suriname; expanding the list of socialists; and adding the Comorian claim to Mayotte in the irredentism article. —09:01, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
  166. Sfacets 10:39, 18 June 2006 (UTC) - this be very important.
  167. ShaunMacPherson 01:21, 12 Oct 2004 (UTC) - I think that the people with the most edits should be looked at as their point of view is dominating. As well, I say that many of the math articles are pedantically biased towards an audience well above our average user .
  168. Silent Reverie 2:30, 18 July 2006 Just your average Wikipedian looking to help out.
  169. SilkTork 23:06, 7 July 2006 (UTC) - Another spanner in the works.
  170. SimonP - Over the last few weeks I have been trying to improve African history articles. (Did you know we didn't even have an article on the Rwandan Genocide until a month ago?). I had been linking to History of Rwanda#The Rwandan genocide, which was ok as a short description, although clearly not sufficient. Pcb21|
  171. Singkong2005 (t - c - WPID) - I've mainly worked on Appropriate technology-related articles & categories; now also giving some attention to articles related to international development, sustainability & global warming. POV issues are significant in these last three. Appropriate technology info was limited, but has improved in the last year. Development-related info is still very limited. --08:01, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
  172. +sj+ - let's see about correcting Rambot and anti-North bias.
  173. Sjc - already involved in the elimination of bias from (particularly) articles on history, social sciences, etc. This looks a sensible and practical approach to the problems I am encountering en route.
  174. Smmurphy - West Africa and Sierra Leone in Particular, world music, third world movements (feminism, group of 40, etc)
  175. Solitude - Anything I feel I should have been thaught about in school, but wasn't.
  176. Spangineer - I'm mostly interested in working on articles related to Latin America.
  177. SqueakBox. English but live in Honduras so biased towards poor, third world and Spanish language.
  178. Steve Rapaport - I have lived in 4 countries, so I'll help correct country/language bias if I can. I'd love to say I'll try to remove American bias from pages on politics, but I'm afraid that's unlikely to succeed.
  179. SV|t 14:05, 1 May 2005 (UTC)
  180. Sugaar I have been already trying to do that partly from my Basque viewpoint but also from the perspective of one that thinks that English is much more than the national language of a few countries but rather the lingua franca of the World. I'm not just worried about Anglocentrism but in general about the sometimes exaggerate importance of other major nation-states such as Spain, France or many others (Russia, China, Turkey, Israel, etc.) and other dominant cultures such as Arabic or European. --Sugaar 00:01, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
  181. Sundar - I've been contributing on things that I know something about; places in India with less representation here (eg Sikkim, Ettayapuram), languages (eg Tamil language), tools that are notable but not written about (eg GraphViz, Dotty) etc. I'll continue doing that and help copyediting under-represented articles whenever possible. -- Sundar 12:14, Mar 8, 2005 (UTC)
  182. Syndicalista 17:11, 16 September 2006 (UTC) I originally thought I'd just edit typos and grammar. I was thrilled to find this project and the acknowledgement about the biases that exist throughout Wikipedia. I hope to add a female and blue collar perspective where it is needed. I would also like to find ways to make Wikipedia editing easier for people who are less familiar with computer programming.
  183. Ta bu shi da yu 13:39, 15 Oct 2004 (UTC) - OK, I'll give this project a shot. Let's see how well you guys do at fixing Christian views of women.
  184. Taejo - Like the average wikipedian, I am: anglophone, born in an industrialised country, and am a male computer programmer. However, I live in Africa (South Africa). I try to to add African examples to articles which are global in scope but use North American and European examples.
  185. Teryx - I'll help where I can.
  186. Grace 10:28, 11 June 2006 (UTC) - I'm glad this project exists! I try to do this sort of thing already, but I hope I can continue to help. I'm somewhat educated in gender studies and queer theory, and I read a lot.
  187. The Literate Engineer. Yep, I'm from the United States. But, I'm a well-educated feminist, so I'm interested in the women's studies section of the to-do-list. Also, non-anglophone literature (although I could only ever read Spanish besides English). Also, like Idont Havaname, I want to work against the (recent) pop-culture & entertainment bias Wikipedia has.
  188. The Minister of War - Great project! Huzzah! I myself am a half American, half Dutch political scientist with a keen interest in Central Asia and the European Union, though I am a generalist more than anything. Am frequently disgruntled at implicit Americo-centrism in articles on various topics, such as (gasp) Anti-Americanism. Would love to help alleviate those problems!
  189. The Prophet Wizard of the Crayon Cake {Prophesize) Indeed, an excellent project. Although I fit into a lot of the "common Wikipedian demographs", I critisize pretty much all societal norms. I'll try my best to conciously notice cultural and demographic bias in articles, although my knowledge of most topics is relatively limited.
  190. The Way - Got a BA in political science and philosophy--particularly interested in international relations--can help out where needed
  191. TheLateDentarthurdent So that Laotian prehistory gets at least as much attention as Pokemon cards.
  192. Tiamut 22:16, 5 November 2006 (UTC) i'm a palestinian woman (with israeli citizenship) whose lived the east and the west, on a mission to expand the realm of permissible thought, to take the elimination of systematic/systemic bias where no man has gone before. respect.
  193. Tigeroo 13:03, 29 September 2006 (UTC) Countering Systematic Bias in Islam, and Muslim History projects by either an exclusion or sidelining of Muslim historicall narratives as non-academic or an exclusion of any critical analysis of the same.
  194. Timeshifter. Great project. I want to see more focus on admin bias, and methods of resolving it. Also, Wikipedia:WikiProject Arab-Israeli conflict.
  195. TK-P 02:35, Mar 9, 2005 (UTC) - I am a theatre artist, educator, and scholar working in the fields of Gender Studies and Cultural Studies. I am also particularly interested in diverse teaching and learning styles. Students in the Introduction to Women’s Studies courses that I am currently teaching in the USA have been exploring Wikipedia. In mid-March 2005, these students are contributing Wikipedia entries on gender issues. This assignment was inspired by the counter systemic bias project. I welcome your input on this assignment and invite you to comment on these entries which are listed on my user page.
  196. TomJord - Music tends to move me, as history doth improve me! 'Ah the wordld is in a terrbidle state of chassis!' But I can try my hand at seein' why that is.
  197. TreveX - East Africa, Uganda in particular. World poverty issues.
  198. Trilobite
  199. ??????????? Because the Dasoguz Province is just as important as Bavaria.Turkmenbashy 12:21, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
  200. UberCryxic 17:35, 24 September 2006 (UTC) Glad to be part of this project. I will mainly work on making articles that I run across have a larger share of global perspectives, something which I already am doing. Now I'm just going to be more conscious about it.
  201. Umofomia - linguistics, particularly Chinese
  202. Urthogie - As a pseudo white-negro I will attempt to represent for all the cultural appropriators that seem to be widely disliked by both blacks and whites.
  203. Varano 15:20, 15 September 2006 (UTC) I fully endorse the idea of this project. I'm mainly an editor at the spanish wikipedia, also in need of CSB. So, by the moment, what I`ll do is find articles at this project page and translate them to spanish.
  204. Vonkje - combat Western marketing biases, like the Beauty Myth, the automobile, presuming the universality of Western values, and the mission to acculturate the rest of the world.
  205. Vsion - updates current events in Africa, and south-east Asia.
  206. Wai Wai: Good ideas! I'm a non-English-native speaker. I can help to provide different opionions. :)
  207. Wandalstouring: I will work on articles about tools (real handcraft), etc.
  208. Warofdreams - I've recently been writing about sub-Saharan Africa; am mostly interested in international and labour articles.
  209. Wikiacc
  210. Wikimachine 20:07, 14 August 2006 (UTC)) - I want to mitigate Korea-Japan related biases and pro-Republican viewpoints.
  211. Wikinerd - I think Wikipedia has systemic bias in favour of itself, Wikimedia, Wikia and its members. Wikinerd 03:31, 16 August 2005 (UTC)
  212. Wizzy - like Elf-friend said ..
  213. Will Lakeman - hopefully I can help spot bias towards the political beliefs of the first world, and also help render articles on academic (arts-related) topics in everyday language.
  214. Wintermute – Having passed the 1'000'000 milestone, this is probably the most important project for english Wikipedia.
  215. Xompanthy I'm onboard, this problem needs to be dealt with. -- xompanthy 00:06, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
  216. Josiah 03:00, 21 Oct 2004 (UTC) - Karaite History - when I first arrived here, pages detailing Karaite history were horribly incorrect...
  217. YungMike513 06:45, 27 June 2006 (UTC) I want the Egypt page to have at picture of at least ONE black person.
  218. Zach Alexander I'm interested in philosophy and progressive forms of religion.
  219. zandperl - women in science. I was doing it anyway.
  220. Zappaz - Alleviating bias against emerging religions and Eastern religions by researching and editing articles that are tainted by prejudice and/or lack of sources representing the POV of these religions.
  221. Zleitzen 15:05, 12 April 2006 (UTC) - Concerned with the systemic bias in articles relating to the politics of Cuba. English speaking Wikipedians are limited to sources which are rarely neutral on the matter of Cuba. For example, users have been relying on the CIA world fact book for basic information for lack of a more credible source. The inherent problems here are obvious.
  222. Zosodada - I hate systemic bias! -- but not so much as outright misinformation... or excessive wordiness... but I hate it more than Yoda-speak! and that's a lot!
  223. ZyXoas - Knowledge of African linguistics and culture as well as the technical side of music production. Based in South Africa.
  224. User:Screensaver - Interested in history (especially the African). Im not a frequent editor, but at least I can help tag biased articles.
  225. CuttingEdge - Because this is so important
  226. Hakeem.gadi 18:30, 7 March 2007 (UTC) - To improve the qualities of articles about Libya and the Arab World.
  227. Sefringle 18:55, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
  228. Lenoxus (talk contribs); Of course, I fit the standard Wikipedia pucture (white young American male), so I'll have that hurdle and all… but I love what the project is doing. 06:07, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
