Welcome to the Comics WikiProject Collaboration of the Month! This effort seeks to identify articles within the field of comics—including titles and series, characters, biographies of people connected to comics, publishers and other related companies, and many others—that require improvement. Anyone is free to contribute, but please don't nominate or support an article unless you are willing to help it improve if it is elected as the Month's collaboration. Anyone can nominate an article and can vote for the nominated articles. Every month or so, a single article will be selected as the collaboration, and everyone will work to improve it as much as possible.

[edit] Candidates

[edit] The Sandman (DC Comics/Vertigo)

The series that paved the way for Vertigo (comics). This, among others such as Watchmen, helped change people's attitudes about the literary value of comics. The impact section looks pretty good already, a few references here, a little tweaking there, and I think this could be a FA. -- Norvy (talk) 14:07, 20 September 2005 (UTC)

  1. Silence 15:05, 20 September 2005 (UTC) - I've been working on these pages some, and I'd certainly welcome the attention of anyone who is able and willing to help, whether this comic becomes the CCotF or not.
  2. WTH. Give it a bump... - SoM 14:12, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
  3. Lex 01:09, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
  4. –– Lid(Talk) 09:38, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
  5. Bifgis 04:59, 22 November 2006 (UTC) I'm all for Sandman, it's one of the greatest titles of all time.

[edit] Fantastic Four

The Fantastic Four are one of the longest lasting super teams, the beggining of the Marvel Universe, and a popular comic book. The current article has more space concerning publication history than team history. This is an article that would benifit this article and make it fitting of the legacy and rich history it has. User Talk: Cnriaczoy42 22:00, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

  1. Support ike9898 15:40, 24 October 2005 (UTC)
  2. Support Fritz Saalfeld 13:15, 27 September 2005 (UTC) - Fantastic Four is considered the beginning of the Silver Age of comics and pretty much the first of the Stan Lee-Jack Kirby Marvel Comics. The article needs some work, especially the Other media section, which has ridiculous long headings and most of the content about the animated series should probably be moved to seperate articles.
  3. Support The Fantastic Four probably saved Marvel form being broke. With out them Marvel would cease to exist.->Phoenix741 17:38, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
  4. Support - We really need to do this for the sake of all Marvel fans.Da'jhan 15:58, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Robert Crumb

Nomination: Arguably most prominent and influential creator of the underground comics movement. Existing article is decent: some references, some illustrations, decent prose. There is enough other info out there to build this into an FA.--ike9898 22:02, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

  1. Support - I too would back up the decision to revamp this one, as he is the most complex of all of the aforementioned subjects, and as is now, his article is more than lacking considering all of the infomration available on him.--[Robolizard- 3 April 2006]
  2. Support - I agree. This article needs improvement.--Ibaranoff24 02:06, 27 April 2006 (UTC))
  3. Support - My man crumb in da hizzouse! GIVE IT SOME 'PROVEMENT! YO! I'll head to it right now, ipso factos!--OleMurder 22:45, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hulk (comics)

A hugely iconic character who is lacking in references and issue numbers. Wiki-newbie 12:46, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

  1. Wiki-newbie 12:46, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
  2. Yeah, that Hulk article is a mess. 71.143.160.132 03:52, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
  3. Support for after World War Hulk Yea its weird for his history all it has is the gamma bomb test and then it jumps straight down to planet hulk. it needs work.Phoenix741 02:48, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
  4. Da'jhan 16:03, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

  1. My only worry about this is that we're heading into World War Hulk and the article is likely to be changing frequently throughout that event. It definitely needs work, but is now the best time? --Mrph 18:55, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
When it was nominated it was a good time, now your right it will be a mess till that whole this is over.Phoenix741 00:14, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] List of comic book superpowers

This list is rather widely linked to, even involving articles that are only comics-related (such as films and television series). It is in rather desperate need of references. I'd like to suggest that this be our next collaboration of the month, so that we can quickly and effectively clean up have what should be a core list for the project. This collaboration would also include the related superhuman power categories. - jc37 08:50, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Doonesbury

Nomination:Seriously, this comic is one of the best choricles in the newspapers today that gives an indept look on American politics and contemporary society in the late-20th century. However, there have been complaints of citations needed for the article, numerous characters that have yet to be added throughout the 37 year history of the strip, and large holes in the article that should be filled. There should also be a storyline that discusses what has happened with the major events. If this article gets nominated, becomes an article for nomination to become a feature article, later a feature article. Doonesbury's creator Garry Trudeau would be proud of us.-Spongefan 20:36, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Comic book

This by all rights should be this WikiProject's flagship page, yet it is currently an awful article. This desperately needs to be fixed, and it should be done ASAP! Ixistant 00:03, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

As one of the two major publishers of comic books in the U.S., I propose we work this article up to featured article status. Steve block talk 21:36, 16 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Maintenance

At the beginning of every month, a new collaboration article should be selected. This should generally be the candidate with the most support (and the oldest candidate in case of a tie).

To archive the current collaboration:

  1. Remove {{ComicsCollabCurrent}} from the top of the current collaboration article.
  2. Add the current article to the bottom of the history section.
  3. Move the current article's nomination text to the archive.

To select the new collaboration:

  1. Add {{ComicsCollabCurrent}} to the top of the new article.
  2. Move the new article's nomination text to the "Current collaboration" section.
  3. Update {{ComicsCollab article}} to point to the new article.
  4. Replace collaboration-candidate=yes with past-collaboration=<start date>–<end date> in the {{Comicsproj}} project banner at the top of the new article's talk page.
  5. Add {{subst:Wikipedia:WikiProject Comics/Collaboration/Notice|Name of article}} ~~~~ to the talk pages of users who supported the new article.
