Wikipedia:WikiProject Alternative music/COTW
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This collaboration is simply to attract more eyes to articles in need of attention. The intent is not simply to work on Good Articles, but also to work on articles that have had Good status revoked, or that are in need. The articles can be band pages, discography lists, or perhaps category based tasks.
Please state the type of attention that you believe your nominee requires, and what the aim is.

- There are so may sources, and it's such a great story, I think a few weeks work from a number of editors would bring it to FA. Ceoil 18:00, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
- While I am a big Joy Division fan, I must admit it's slightly out of the scope of the project (predating alt-rock by a few years because, well, y'know . . . -cues an Iggy pop record-). New Order, however, is in the scope and I would have no problem fixing that one up. Either way, I own the NewOrderStory documentary DVD, which is a great source (features cameos by Bono that will either have you thinking he's completely awesome, an egomaniacal twat, or both!) that I would be happy to draw from to work on either article. - Current GA article that failed FAC recently. There's a lot more that can be done with the article. In particular external links references need to be formatted. WesleyDodds 07:54, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
- Huge work by User:ErleGrey before, during and since the FA nom. Its very close, and might be worth revisiting by this project. Ceoil 18:03, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

Comments
- "Chloe Dancer" is a well regarded song (i.e. references on the page :p)...and Mother Love Bone's best known song. They were a huge influence on Pearl Jam (2 of the same members); this article could be much better with a little work. BlueLotas 05:21, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Soul Asylum
Nominated March 24, 2007.

Comments
- Soul Asylum is mid-importance on the Wikipedia alternative music project. It has a large trivia section. It isn't very well-referenced, but has lots of good information. Some of the material is time-dated.Deatonjr 01:48, 24 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Kay Hanley
Nominated March 23, 2007.

Comments
- Hanley is best known as the former singer for Letters to Cleo, this page badly needs wikification, images, and formatting.
[edit] Anthony Kiedis
Nominated March 11, 2007

Comment
- Kiedis is a pretty interesting character as the Red Hot Chilipeppers frontman. He has a published memoir, which is mentioned twice in the article but not the references section. That book would make great material for cleaning up this article, if anyone can get ahold of it. Deatonjr 00:05, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
- Considering there is a 400 page auto-biography which gives his entire life history starting from age 5, this article should be quite lengthy. In addition, he is a notable lyricist and songwriter. It is in obvious need of improvement and the slot of Weekly Collaboration would generate some much needed attention. NSR77 (Talk|Contribs) 19:57, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
