[edit] Single artist/group

In alphabetizing these, I have removed the words "A", "An" and "The" -- try not to let this lead to mistakes that will have to be fixed later (though, of course Pretenders should redirect to the Pretenders). This list is just something to start from and anyone should feel free to write about whichever album(s) seems most relevant for our goal (to make an encyclopedia). Please delete anything from the list when it has a thorough article. I have taken off the incomplete list of singles-era artists. That is a different project, really, and just takes up space.

[edit] Now albums

[edit] Origin of request

There was originally a list of Now albums requested up to volume fifty (or so) (implying that it referred to the UK series, as none of the others go that high). It appears that the original request was simply added by an individual editor, rather than as the result of group consensus.

[edit] Notability issues unresolved

Issues were raised (by Fourohfour) regarding the notability of individual Now! albums/articles (as opposed to the phenomenon as a whole), via talk pages and RfCs. This effort did not attract sufficient comment to be able to judge the feelings of the community as a whole towards these articles. Thus the situation remains unclear.

[edit] Naming considerations

If you wish to write articles on individual "Now!" albums, please consider that there are several different "Now!" series in different markets.

This means that (e.g.) "Now 4" may refer to the UK "Now 4" (circa 1984), the US "Now 4" (circa 2000, and totally different), or the Japanese "Now 4" (probably different again). Read Now That's What I Call Music! main article and List of Now That's What I Call Music! albums to get the full picture.

The following redlinks follow the naming conventions used for existing "Now!" articles. This is not to say that everyone agrees with them (see discussion here).
