WikiProject on Alberta's Highways

[edit] Scope

Our purpose is to organize all the Alberta Highways stubs. We have one common goal. Providing information about Alberta's highways. They don't seem to get enough attention. It is simple. You create stubs, expand, then use templates and graphics.

[edit] Structure

The road articles in WikiProject Mantioba Roads are to go by following order

[edit] Route description

The route description should be full of details depending on the size of the route, if it becomes too long, chances are you'll have to split them into subsections with ==== ====. Mentions should be towns it passes through, what you'll see and other things.

[edit] Communities along the route

In this section, you have to list (using *) the cities and towns the road goes through (if possible). They are split into towns and cities.

[edit] History

In this section, you'll have to mention a well-detailed history of the road.

[edit] Major Attractions

List any attractions on the road like lakes, beaches, historical sites and buildings, provincial parks and other things. An example would be Manitoba Provincial Road 391 and Lynn Lake.

[edit] Exit List/Junctions/Major Intersections

Going under three names, this section uses a chart to mention the intersections that the road meets up with. If the list is too short, use "Junctions". If the list is too long, shorten it to "Major Intersections". If its got exit numbers, it should be known as "Exit List".

[edit] Goals

Our goal right now is to create articles related to the Alberta highway network. To make these goals easier to accomplish, this page is divided into phases.

[edit] Phases of Project

We are currently in Phase 1 of the project. Please consult the tasks section to see your list of duties.

  1. Stub Creation, 1 paragraph or less is fine. Don't forget to add stub templates!
  2. Stub Expansion, add some details, a few more sentences to a whole paragraph.
  3. Further Review, expansion, add a paragraph or two.
  4. Final expansion, Images and templates to spruce article up.
  5. Patrol.

[edit] Tasks

To-do list for Wikipedia:WikiProject Alberta Highways: edit  · history  · watch  · refresh

Here are some tasks you can do:

[edit] Adopt an article

Similar to the Collaboration of the week, but on a smaller scale, you might want to "adopt" an article. This would involve doing the research, writing, and picture-taking (if possible) for either a non-existent article or a stub. Of course, everyone else can still edit an adopted article, and you can work on other things too, but the idea is to find a focus for a while, to try and build up the number of quality articles the Project has produced.
