[edit] How do I add the WikiProject Aircraft templates to pages?
All templates used by this project are listed here, and each template has specific instructions on its page. They work the same way all templates do on Wikipedia, and help on templates in general is found here.
For example, every aircraft should have a template at the top-right of the article page. Simply go to the top of the article page and type (or copy and paste from the template documentation):
{{infobox Aircraft
|name = #REQUIRED <!--please avoid stating manufacturer in this field; it's stated two lines below -->
|type = #REQUIRED
|manufacturer = #REQUIRED
|image = <!--in the ''image:filename'' format, no image tags-->
|caption = <!--image caption; if it isn't descriptive it should be left blank-->
|designer = <!--only appropriate for single designers, not project leaders-->
|first flight = <!--if it hasn't happened, leave it out!-->
|introduced = <!--date the aircraft entered military or revenue service-->
|retired = <!--date the aircraft left military or revenue service. if vague or multiples, it probably should be skipped-->
|status = <!--in most cases, this field is redundant; use it sparingly-->
|primary user = <!--please list only one, and don't use those tiny flags as they limit horizontal space-->
|more users = <!--up to three more. please separate with <br/>.-->
|produced = <!--years in production, e.g. 1970-1999, if still in active use but no longer built-->
|number built =
|unit cost =
|developed from = <!-- the aircraft which formed the basis for the topic type -->
|variants with their own articles = <!-- variants OF the topic type -->
}}
For example, see this edit.
[edit] How do I insert the data into the templates?
Simply replace the instructions after the = sign with what you want to appear in the box.
[edit] Do I need to add a tag at the bottom of the article to indicate that "this article is part of Wikiproject Aircraft"? If so, what is the tag?
No, you do not tag the article as being part of the project. You can, however, add the project template {{WPAVIATION}} to the article's talk page. This automatically categorizes this article as being part of the project.
