[edit] Adelaide Freeways and highways

Adelaide has two main freeways the South Eastern Freeway and the Southern Expressway.

The South Eastern Freeway connects forms a part of highway 1 and connects Adelaide to Melbourne and Sydney. The freeway is a triple laned road from the start of the freeway at Glen Osmand till Crafers from there it continues as a duel laned road until its terminus at Murray Bridge where it becomes highway 1.

The Southern Expressway is a dual laned road however it only travels in a single direction. During morning peak times the route is used to allow southerners to travel into the city and in afternoon peak times it allows southerners to travel back towards Victor Harbour.

There is also the Port River Expressway.
