[edit] Poem - Dial-Up: Six Haikus and a Limerick

I was reading your poems in sandbox and there all really good. Dial-Up: Six Haikus and a Limerick is a masterpiece though. I have dial-up (and a crappy windows 95!) so I know how it darn slow it can be. Empty Are We was also a really cool poem. Think outside the box 12:21, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

(Ouch, at least mine's a Windows 98) But thanks! I just write what I feel sometimes, and it turns out that day my dial-up was really acting up. I could see you've written more than I have; I quite liked "Forgotten But Remembered". --Wikiwøw 15:27, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] It's my first entry.

Be gentle with me. HalfShadow 21:03, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

^_^ I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to be mean, just to help make the article a little better. But for future reference, it's generally a bad idea to have pictures floating haphazardly on a page, unless it's like that for a specific purpose. --Wikiwøw 21:13, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

  • As for the deletion thing, I didn't do that, don't hate me for it. --Wikiwøw 21:15, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
I only entered it because another entry I work on mentions it, but there's no wiki entry for it. As I stated, I just meant it to be a quick entry so that there'd somewhere for the link to go. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by HalfShadow (talkcontribs) 21:33, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
That's not the best reason to start an article, but your intentions were good, and it does have potential to grow. It's only problem seems to be its length, as it makes it look like some kind of advertisement. You might want to consider adding information similar to that you'd find on articles about other sites (category:Websites), though I wouldn't know where to find that kind of thing. --Wikiwøw 21:43, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
Unfortunately, that's effectivlly all I know about the site. I suppose I won't really be bothered if it gets deleted; I only created it for the sake of thoroughness anyway.HalfShadow 21:48, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Stegosaurus

Hi Wikiwow!

I'm planning to send Stegosaurus to Featured Article candidacy. The article failed its first nomination, but user:Casliber and I have been hard at work fixing stuff. As you're listed as a member of Wikipedia: WikiProject Dinosaurs, I figured I'd drop you a line and see if there was anything you thought should be added/removed/cited on the article before it is sent to FAC. We definitely want it to pass! :)

(Feel free to make any edits on the article itself, comment on the talk page, or leave a note on my talk page). Thanks for your time, Firsfron of Ronchester 19:51, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for making these copyedits! Much appreciated! If you see more problems... :) Firsfron of Ronchester 18:15, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image on your user page

Hello, I noticed that Image:Eragon.jpg is on your user page. Per WP:FAIR#Policy article 9, no fair use images are to be used outside the article namespace. Thanks. Thunderbrand 15:38, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

Oops, well I don't pay much attention to those fair use rules, but I suppose I should start. --Wikiwøw 20:51, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Emo

Hey, just wanted to say that I didn't mean to cause an edit collision with what you were doing. That sentence seemed too POV/specific and unverified, I thought, but if you think it's worth fixing, go for it. :) Pinball22 18:25, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

No prob. I thought to delete it at first, but I figured with some tweaking it could be more NPOV. Better to delete it, I suppose now. --Wikiwøw 18:31, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Norwegian language on Template:Language phonologies

Hi there. I just wanted to point out that in navigation templates, there should never be links to redirects because it prevents the entry from appearing in bold text when the article being viewed is part of the template. Since Norwegian phonology is a redirect, it would remain as a link instead of bold text if the {{Language phonologies}} template were placed on the Norwegian language article. Since I don't think that the phonologies template should be placed on any article that isn't purely about phonology/phonetics of a particular language, I'd omit Norwegian until it has its own phonology article. That being said, it seems like the "Sound system" section of the Norwegian language article is substantial enough to be split out as Norwegian phonology. Mike Dillon 15:44, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

I agree; if Ukrainian phonology and Yiddish phonology are both substantial enough to have their own articles, Norwegian phonology should also be split into its own separate page. So, should we request a split from the main article on the Talk page, or can we take the liberty of creating it ourselves? --Wikiwøw 15:58, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

I'd propose it on the talk page. If there's anyone actively watching the article, they should have an opinion. It's easy enough to turn the whole section into an article. The question is what to leave in the Norwegian language article as a summary and I think the active editors would be helpful there. Mike Dillon 17:37, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wikiproject Narnia Newsletter March 2007

WikiProject Narnia Newsletter
Issue 1 - 2nd March 2007 . Written by User:Sp3000 (talkcontribs)
WikiProject Narnia News
  • The WikiProject has been a little quiet lately. There are still quite a lot of Narnia stubs. It has been nearly three months since we last worked on Minor characters in The Chronicles of Narnia, which still looks very much like a draft page. That would be a nice article to get into the main namespace.
Good and Featured Articles
Other news
  • WikiProject Narnia's first newsletter issue has been published. You're looking at it right now!
Member News
To-do
  1. Add characters and bios to minor character draft page.
  2. Expand Narnia stubs.
  3. Place links to the Narnia Portal on article pages by using {{portal|Narnia}}.
  4. Add the stub template {{Narnia-stub}} to articles in the category Category:Stub-Class Narnia articles so that there are the same number of articles in Category:Narnia stubs.
  5. Link the first mention of a year in all Narnia-related articles to Narnian timeline.
  6. Rewrite character articles to use the Narnian character example article format.
  7. Adopt an article and improve it to the best of your ability.
  8. Wikify The Chronicles of Narnia article, especially the new lead and Narnian Universe sections
From the founder

I am proud to present our first issue of the WikiProject Narnia Newsletter. I decided that we needed to alert everybody who had expressed interest in the project that there is much work to be done! Please check in every once in a while at the project talk page, and tell other project members what you've been up to in terms of Narnia articles.

Article of the Month: Edmund Pevensie
  • Edmund Pevensie is a major character in The Chronicles of Narnia. He appears as a principal character in three of the seven books. Edmund was the second to enter Narnia, although he tried to betray his siblings to the White Witch. However, Edmund managed to help save Narnia by neutralizing the White Witch's most powerful weapon, her wand.
Collaboration of the Month: Shasta (Narnia)
  • Shasta is currently quite short and not much of his background has been mentioned. The article also lacks images – but make sure if you upload one, you include a FU rationale. Contribute!
