[edit] Possible Sock Puppet & Spamming at The Secret (film)
Hi, I note these:
- Your edits have been very similar to User talk:76.169.138.26 — a user that was blocked on January 7th — partially on my recommendation
- Also, your ID was apparently created one week after the above user was blocked and you took on a user name of "WikiLeni", a user ID with striking similarity to mine. — WikiLen 22:19, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
- And regarding your comments at the film's discussion page, talk:The Secret (film)#Link to film at Google Video:
- "Have modified link authorized by Dragon 8 PR and DrewPictures.net. The company president has announced that thanks to their multiple marketing google campaigns Oprah Winfrey called them on January 3rd and 5th. They have made an agreement with documentary site jonhs.net to present a continuous screening of The Secret using both google video and youtube, link is http://www.jonhs.net/freemovies/secret.htm. I have added that new free link to The Oprah Winfrey Show as expert quotes can be taken from Oprah's interview. The link added is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4At9hVa1U1A (also added external link to google video http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6970591609350288402)" — quoting user:wikiLeni
- I have these issues about your above discussion:
- You refer to DrewPictures.net and that site is a redirect to a Google video spamming stuff related to the film.
- Furthermore DrewPictures.net is not the address for DrewPictures. DrewPictures is at www.DrewPictures.com (".com" not ".net").
- You refer to the site JonHs.net as having an agreement to show the film. That is a site for a freelance web designer in Helsinki, Finland. Apparently, as a hobby, Jon posts documentaries he believes to be free. He makes this disclaimer,
-
- "None of the audio/visual content is hosted on this site. All media is embedded from other sites such as Google Video, YouTube and Dailymotion. Therefore; this site has no control over the copyright issues of the streaming media."
- The "official" sites that Jon provides for his showing of the film are www.DrewPictures.com and thescienceofgettingrich.biz. Neither is "official" — both redirect to Google spamming videos.
- The video link you provided, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4At9hVa1U1A, now has this notice at that page:
-
- "This video has been removed due to terms of use violation."
- The other video link you provided, http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6970591609350288402 goes to the same spamming video as www.DrewPictures.net.
Your username has been blocked indefinitely because it may be rude or inflammatory, unnecessarily long/confusing, too similar to an existing user, contains the name of an organization or website, or is otherwise inappropriate (see our blocking and username policies for more information).
You are encouraged to create a new account and contribute to Wikipedia under a more appropriate username. Wikipedia:Username provides guidance on selecting an appropriate username. You may also edit Wikipedia without creating an account.
You are not allowed to edit Wikipedia under an inappropriate username. If you would like to discuss the block, you may appeal on your talk page or email the administrator who blocked you. Due to Wikipedia's mechanism for enforcing name changes, your IP address may be temporarily blocked. Unless you have also been engaging in vandalism or impersonation of another user, we will remove that block as soon as possible.
If you want to keep the contributions from your old account for your new username, please follow these directions: (1) Add {{unblock-un|your new username here}} to your user talk page. This is possible because even when you are blocked, you can still edit your own talk page. (2) Soon, an admin may come to unblock you. (3) You will have 24 hours after the unblock to file a request on Wikipedia:Changing username before you may be re-blocked. Note that this can only be done before you create the new one. For more information, please visit Wikipedia:Changing username. In many cases (especially if your account has few or no edits), it is a lot easier to create a new account. ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 23:13, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
