Sorry for my error in not getting rationale in for removing the "Orphaned fairuse" tag in my last edit. I removed the tag because the image is being used in the iPhone article, and because the fair use rationale was already given in the summary. - The fact that you editors are putting in a minimal amount of work to replace this image should show how much you want only this image to be used. Look on flickr. There are tons of images on there that show the browser and most of them are completely free use. I've already uploaded several images from there today to replace both iPhone and Apple TV images. How about you guys try the same. Even if you don't this image is still going to be failed by an admin and get deleted so you'll only be helping by finding a free use image. Why are you under the impression that the images on flickr are necessarily free in the sense of being under a copyleft license? I get the impression after a brief tour of their policy that the individual photographers still hold the copyright and must be contacted for usage of their photos. If it can be proven otherwise I have a photo to replace this and will do so otherwise its just another fair use photo. phatom87 (talk • contribs • count) 02:59, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- It's dependent on what license tags are applied to the image. Some are free use. Some are not and need permission beyond a simple attribution. Most flickr users are good enough to simply place images up for free use. Roguegeek (talk) 03:06, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

- The first one I found was under copyright. I found second that has been released under the conditions that it be used unaltered for non-commercial purposes. Attribution is required and is part of the photo in form the photographers name on the lower left hand corner. See http://www.flickr.com/photos/hermosawave/352263076/. The iPhone is a product that has only just been announced, and it is nowhere near release. The only photos of it are (I would guess) pre-release publicity photos from Apple used specifically to publicise the phone. No-one outside of Apple has ever held the iPhone and so is unable to photograph it. Also the screenshot on the Phone is of this website and includes a PD photo of the iPods, so there shouldn't be any license problems with the "photo in the photo". - Confirmed thanks for finding this seems fit the critia needed. Obviously if a free use version exist that must be used in preference to a fair use image. I will get the article updated looks like its even same page. Hopeful we don't have any strong objections.
