[edit] Summary

Excerpt from a sketch by John Romita, Jr., featuring The Dazzler (depicted as an African American) and the X-Men (Colossus, Banshee, Nightcrawler, Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine) with Casablanca Records founder Neil Bogart. Dated as 1979. Personal Collection. (Novaya havoc 22:31, 7 June 2006 (UTC))

It is interesting to note that this version of Dazzler is based off of model/actress/singer Grace Jones, and was artist John Romita Jr's initial design for the character. It was only after intervention by non-Marvel Comics clients that the Dazzler design was changed to resemble actress/model Bo Derek, from whom Dazzler received her blond haired, blue-eyed design.
