Wigg Daddy
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wigg Daddy is the Nom de Plume of Ara Andonian, a top 40 radio DJ. Wigg Daddy wrote the worlds' first Amazing Race rap song. In this song he defended his friend, Jonathan Baker, who appeared on the hit reality TV show. Wigg Daddy is used by Ara Andonian when publishing music as well as when writing and tagging graffiti, stencils and wheat paste posters. The Nom de Plume was used by Ara Andonian to distance the controversial lyrics, illegal graffiti and stencils from his true identity. Wigg Daddy has also been known to use the Nom de Plume of 'Raa Daddy' or 'Raa D' or simply 'Raa'. The Wigg Daddy logo is a spoof of the Obey Giant poster phenomenon. The face featured in the Wigg Daddy logo is that of Ara Andonian.
The name 'Wigg Daddy' combines the 'Daddy' segment from Ara Andonian's rap alias 'Raa Daddy' with the word 'Wigg', which is in reference to the wigger lifestyle that is practiced by Ara Andonian. Wigg Daddy has appeared on Shaw cable access with his bandmate, John Rex. The two were engaged in a rowing motion while doing what is called a 'beatbox' (the act of making drum sounds with your mouth). The two are know to be extremely close with each other, and share an intimate bond that they nurture through chanting rituals.
Wigg Daddy has caused somewhat of an uproar with local city council, as his wheat paste posters are known to be notoriously difficult to remove. It is unclear at this time if the public at large has made the connection between Ara Andonian and Wigg Daddy.
