Wide Open Spaces is the fourth album by American country music band the Dixie Chicks, released in 1998 (see 1998 in music). It was their first record with new lead vocalist Natalie Maines, and became their breakthrough commercial success. In the U.S. it received diamond status by the RIAA on 2/20/03 in the USA, having shifted 12 million units[1], while spending more than five years in the Australian ARIA music charts Country Top 20.
