Release date: 1981
Beginning with this album and continuing through 1988's Terminal Jive, the Mael brothers worked with three backing musicians who also recorded on their own under the name Gleaming Spires: guitarist Bob Haag, bassist Leslie Bohem, and drummer David Kendricks. Under their own name, the Gleaming Spires had a minor novelty new wave hit, "Are You Ready For The Sex Girls?," in 1981. Bohem has since become a fairly successful Hollywood screenwriter.
