Whomp 'Em

Whomp 'Em is a video game that was released on the NES in March of 1991.
It's a typical action 1 player platform game now classed as a retro game.
One of the noticeable aspects of the gameplay is that after you complete the first stage you can play the rest of the 6 in any order. These 6 stages represents the elements i.e. fire and water. After each stage you gain a new weapon much like the Mega Man Classic series, which was extremely popular at the time.
The game is notable for being one of the few video games to feature a Native American protagonist.
This game was the American version of a Japanese game called Saiyuuki World 2. The game, as well as its prequel (which was an adaptation of Wonder Boy in Monster Land were based on the Journey to the West novel.
