Who Killed Who?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Who Killed Who? is an animated short by director Tex Avery for MGM made in 1943. It is a parody for whodunit stories and employs many cliches of the genre for humor. It is one of Avery's most fast-paced cartoons and employs many classic sight gags.

[edit] Plot

A real life narrator opens with a disclaimer about the nature of the cartoon.

The story begins as the victim is reading a book based on the very cartoon he's in. He frightenly muses that he is about to be "bumped off". True to form, a mysterious killer soon shoots (with a rather large pistol) him dead (though how dead he is a matter of question) and a police officer immediately begins to investigate. After investigating the premises and the staff, the officer gives a lengthy chase to the real killer. Eventually, he traps the killer and unmasks him, revealing him to be the narrator from the beginning, who quips, "I dood it" before bursting into tears.
