Whitworth West
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Whitworth West is a development of luxury apartments built by Redrow Homes in Manchester city centre, situated at the crossroads of Whitworth Street, Whitworth Street West, and Oxford Road, opposite Manchester Oxford Road railway station, which many of the apartments overlook. The development comprises 220 apartments and penthouses and was completed in 2002.
The building stands on the site of the former St Mary's hospital, Manchester. It has four commercial units at ground level, three of which are currently occupied by a branch of J Sainsbury and the fourth a branch of Felicini, an Italian restaurant. The northwestern aspect of the building enjoys views of a private zen garden and the Rochdale Canal.
