Whittingham is a village in Preston Lancashire.

Whittingham is next to Goosnargh

Whittingham is mainly known for the old secure unit that was there for most of the 20th century however it was gradually closed down. In 1999 the guild Lodge was built to host over 80 patients from Lancashire and South Cumbria.

The Whittingham Mental Hospital was served up until 1957 by a branch line running from a junction with the Longridge Branch Line at Grimsargh. The Preston to Longridge line finally closing to goods traffic in 1967.
